I would also like to know about this. The build template tools have not been mentioned in quite a while.

OP, you should please change your subject in order to get this thread the proper attention. Please mention build template in the subject. “Any news on build templates?” would fit, and give more relevant information.

They already responded on that. On a interview a couple on months back Colin said that they are not working on that at the moment, but they would like too. So the chance is about zero that it will be in the expansion.

Players regularly ask for a lot of features which Anet are not currently working on and/or have no intention to ever put into the game.

So it’s best to assume that the last thing they said on the matter still stands and/or unless they explicitly say they are working on something then you should not expect it.

Otherwise every update would have to be something like:
“We’re currently working on finalising and balancing the elite specs for HoT. We are not currently working on:

• mounts
• dueling
• other forms of open-world PvP
• new tiers of equipment
• adding/merging/removing servers
• build templates
• heroes/henchmen
• gliding outside HoT zones
• New level cap
• customisable outfits
  etc. etc.

No, they’re too busy making broken events.

At least it saves your spvp and wvw build though, separate from your pve map. so its not end of the world type stuff not having one.

however it would be super nice to have two build templates per game mode, as well as the ability to manage said builds outside of their respective instance.

what I find more useful is a sort of gear swap/save system. I pretty much run around in gear meant for wvw in pve, just because I don’t want to get into a situation where my limited bag space is occupied by specific gear sets, running the risk that I accidentally salvage (say a piece gets removed from the invisible bag)

In League of Legends and Defense of the Ancients and Counter Strike and Team Fortress 2 and so many other games, you could customize your load out based on your team and the other team. Why can’t we have an easy and quick system in PvP to customize ourselves accordingly, before the start of the team battle, so we can devote most of the wait time into thinking and talking to our team mates about the battle ahead.

You were ahead of your time with templates in GW1, now it’s like you took one step forward, then dun goofed and stumbled five steps back.
