Hello

Wondering if there is any place to grind gold at? Not something like champ train but more like “Killing stuff with aoe for loot”? Maybe something like elementals for lodestones? Anyone has tried that, or has any output?

Farming for a specific item is not worth it in this game. You get only 1-2 lodestones per hour. Farming for cloth is RNG since it is dependant on lootbags and salvage items.

Yeah you won’t be able to farm for items.

Your best bet is to solo arah, champ train, or TP flip

Lets say there is a place; do you ACTUALLY think that someone will post the place where they are making profit? Specially an official forum in which Anet looks at and can nerf the spot?

Lets analyze the last time this was done; shark farming during the LS at the suncove; BAM nerfed next patch. Spider farming, bam, nerfed, ice giants bam nerfed, etc etc.

Im sorry, but you are out of luck.

Learn to TP flip. It’s the only one that Anet really can’t nerf.

RNG is a bell curve. Better hope you’re on the right side.

Only if you can manage to steal an overflow all for yourself. The only way to get a fresh vacant map is to go back in time and out level everyone.

best spot to grind is real-life. It really is, & then buy gems. That’s how anet designed it anyway. PAY2WIN

Oh, I didn’t read that right. Yeah, get a part time job and make more gold per hour than you would in game.

This is very true. Grinding dungeons on speedruns yields somewhere around $1.25 an hour. Its just not efficient to grind if you have a means of disposable income unless you live somewhere that pays less than $1.25 an hour or if you find grind thoroughly enjoyable.

I’ve been searching out new places – haven’t found anything outstanding.

Rather than give a man a fish (and primarily because I am not sure most of the ones I’ve taken a liking to are really all that consistent), I’ll pseudo teach a man to fish.

I’ve fallen into a pattern when trying to find acceptable ones… and I am not being snarky with the following.

Pick a region, walk across, watching for clusters of monsters. They’re pretty rare – it’s usually onesie-twosie spread apart.

Kill them all then stand still and watch for respawn – if it’s a quick enough respawn for your patience level, do again… watch drops. In MOST places, they drop nothing or junk… move on.

There are very few areas where multiple enemies are close enough together to farm AND actually drop anything worthwhile…at least that I have found.

Dungeons are good money. CoF, SE, Hotw, AC they are the fastest dungeons to do for gold. Also you can use your tokens to get a good looking set. TP is the best way to make money once you find a niche in it.

The thing is that if you take on extra working hours in order to get cash to splurge on virtual items you will do so at the expense of your gaming time. In the end you will have enough dough to convert a huge amount of gems for gold and buy a Bifrost off of the Trading Post but almost no time to log in and run around with that Bifrost.

If there’s no viable way to make a moderate amount of in-game currency by just playing the game, people tend to lose interest. That being said, Guild Wars 2 seems to walk a fine if rather thin line at the moment. You can earn a sensible amount of gold through dungeons, champion zerging, node harvesting, mass farming mobs through big events and trading post speculation.

Renown hearts, jumping puzzles, exploration and regular events could benefit from a bit of a reward lift though. Hearts offer a very pitiful monetary reward if you compare it to the current economy. I assume they used to be more in line when the game started and there was no inflation. Same thing goes for events.

Jumping puzzle chests and hidden chests should reward you with a sum between 20 and 50 silver, depending on the difficulty. Especially since the hidden chests are usually gated behind multiple veterans and a champion so you have to get others to come with you while the jumping puzzles require more skill than zerging an overgrown monster.

That’s my two cents about this but I’m no game designer or economy expert so take it with a pinch of salt.

Trade post scalping is the easiest way to success. One of the many reasons as to why the game is going downhill so fast. Actually playing out in the world is a complete waste of time unless you’re running dungeons or champion trains. Events are garbage. Sorry.
