… equal in terms of quality? Some of them are just horrible when compared to the “top dogs” Twilight and Sunrise. You get it all with those; aura around your character, footsteps and new skill projectiles – and more!

What do you get if you make the Warhorn? The Focus? The Pistol? Nothing remarkable. And don’t get me started on the Mace!

Most of the Legendaries need to be done over, and done right.

I can do thirty Five-Dolyak Arm Curls.

Well the scepter apparently has no effects at all. It’s obvious they preferred the greatswords in terms of making nice skins.

They shouldn’t be the way they are in the first place…any of them. You have a lot of money, you get a legendary. That’s how it works, right? Where’s the story/lore behind it like there should be. Send the player on a quest or something.

Not only offering to sell gold but also…. wait for it……. ANY legendary weapon i wanted too, stating that they had all ready to sell.
So yea.. Legendary’s not legendary at all sorry.

But yea, I main a Ranger and I use a shortbow like 90% of the time. Naturally I want a legendary shortbow, but the current skin has absolutely no appeal to me. It’s a “joke” weapon.

I hope they come out with better legendary skins in the future, or make the current ones better.

They stated many of the current ones are unfinished as they didn’t expect players to get them so quick. So yes, expect improved effects on the naff looking ones

No idea when though

There are girls (like me) playing GW2 too, who absolutely LOVE the shortbow skin and are happy that the developers actually designed some legendary stuff for our tastes as well. Enough super evil manly stuff out there already, more unicorns and rainbows please!

I dont get it, they make 3 legendary greatswords, 3!! And with really awesome skins, while having only 1 of the other weapons, which looks like crap compared to the greatswords. I would pick corrupted/destroyer dagger any time over incinerator.

Sorry dude, but that pistol…. that pistol…
Was the best thing I ever crafted in this game, it should’ve been the first legendary I crafted.

I can’t get enough of it, worth, every, copper.

The real losers are the Warhorn, focus and torch (“ok” design for a legendary, but no big enough).

The kitten ones are The dreamer, Frostfang, Meteorologicus and The predator.
They could’ve been done better.

Underwater weapons are for TP playas only, since you only make them either if you’re a complete idiot or got too much gold in your bank to know what to do with.

Sorta relevant though.

The effort involved in getting the “crappy” Legendaries is very much the same as the one for the “good” ones.

It simply isn’t fair.

I am still going for the Warhorn though, but it will be bittersweet when I finally get it.

If you don’t like the crappy ones don’t go after the crappy ones -.- If you’re using the warhorn you’re what? A ranger, Necro, or Warrior. All of them have other legendary weapon options that are fitting: frostfang for Necro, Kudzu or Rogdort for Ranger, and Warriors have plenty of options because everything’s designed for them lol. But yeah crappy legendaries shouldn’t require the same grind: if the chicken harp played music and left a trail of music notes then it’d be great. The scepter should leave like cloud footprints and a trail of clouds when swung. I think the rest are pretty cool though I understand that not everyone loves rainbows and unicorns

Advertisement: “featuring over a hundred legendary weapon designs!!!!”

Reality: many of said hundred legendary weapon designs are inferior and terrible and may as well be normal skins

Bigger picture people. If they’re inferior then it creates the issues of potentially misleading information and assumptions when it comes to answers to questions many players would ask when considering playing the game. just because you have the option to not get them, doesn’t change that they’re inferior, that answer is so far apart in terms of the issue , it may as well be in parallel dimensions.

Irony…. xD

I guess I’m the only one who likes the warhorn

My norn is centered entirely around ‘Wolf’, I wasn’t even going to go for a legendary and then I saw it and thought, “Well… crap. I think I want that.”

Just depends on your taste, the greatswords are neat but now I see them more than any other legendary, and are getting a little old. But hey, these are all personal opinions. I’m female and I think all of the “girly” legendaries are absolutely hideous. The only people I know so far that have the dreamer or kudzu are male, lol.

You gotta be trolling here. Demanding that all Legendaries be equally nice is of course outrageous and stupid? I’m a Warrior, but I don’t WANT to use a Greatsword. Should I be punished with a crappier Legendary? No, my other options should be just as sweet. Also, whats up with THREE Legendary Greatswords? Not only are they the best designed ones, but there’s different ones to choose from! Someone really favoured working on the Greatswords over the other weapons…

I alos think there is slightly more emphais put towards sword effects than other weapons. However, each weapon should have unikittenfects that give the ‘woow’ factor and thus should not be comparable.

I would like the bifrost to rip the sky when you use an skill and leave a trail of clouds and crystals or whatever which would resemble a magical bridge, and with a pure white aura around you….and probably even changing the way you walk…you would practically float.

I can venture a guess, actually: because they originally planned to make multiple Legendaries for each weapon type.

They probably developed Sunrise and Twilight first (ergo why their effects are finished and many others are not), then decided to scale back on making so many legendary items because they couldn’t finish them all before the game’s planned release.

If true, it would be yet another reason why they should have stuck to their original philosophy of “when it’s ready” instead of rushing the title out in time for the Chinese Year of the Dragon.

Remember when our developers talked about “strengthening the core game”?
How’d that work out for us so far?
Now let’s try some ideas that will really work.

please, the dreamer is awesome, if i wouldn’t bored to death to use a ranger in this game i would totally go for the dreamer and spread death by rainbow every day (unfortunately i rolled a mesmer and there is no turning back to a ranger).
biforst just don’t seem that epic and i don’t like GS on my mesmer (i use it just to farm with magic find).

i guess there are so much legendary GS because 50% of the professions in this game can use that weapon. (even if with this logic there should be more than 1 staff since 50% of the professions can use 1)

It’s also a bit off that the 1H legendaries take the same to make as the 2H legendaries, meaning you’d need twice the grind to complete your weapon “set”.

I think that for whatever reason the design team for gear has failed tremendously. It’s like the original crew has left and some new guys came in that had to start all over.

Armour looks crappy for most of it and these legendaries aren’t much better. It’s like they stuck em in at the last moment, just to have some in the game. This game lack cool skins like crazy and where in GW1 I had 3-5 elite armour sets per character, I could barely find one I liked. The legendaries I never needed to get cause I don’t really like any of them. Not one.

The fact that the GS have effects and others don’t is just strange. I really makes me wonder if they are finished products or rushed products.

It’s a game forum. The truth is not to be found here.

TL;DR: At this point in the game, no one should realistically have legendary weapons yet. Because of that, most designs are unfinished.

I hope some get updated but seriously …. any human player can not and will not have a legendary by this time. Even if I bought the gold with gems, there’s still other things to get which I didn’t have time for, realistically speaking.

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.
