To get keys?

I get a lot of tomes and writs, so every week I make a toon, farm a key, and then continue on with my life as normal.

If you’re thinking of spending gems to get an extra character slot to farm keys, I’d say no, forget it.

I don’t have opinions. I only have facts I can’t adequately prove.

This.

That being said, with current BL weapon prices per ticket, it’s not that lucrative an endevour anyway.

If you have the extra slot and enjoy the weekly run, do it.

To use up tomes, to get a booster, get a merchant or equivalent item, eventually get a key.

It’s worth it in a low value way now if you already have an empty slot you can use. The nerf and the drop in value for the weapons has hit key farming hard though.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Exactly as much point as there ever was. If you felt it was worth investing 10 minutes (with consumables) or 20-40 minutes (using hearts|crafting to reach L10), then it’s still worth it.

you know what… I just realized that those account slots + perma bank contract make the digital deluxe upgrade’s 2-week banker golem for all new characters obsolete to key runners.

Obsolete? No, I still use it, but it only shaves 10-30 seconds off the total time, not minutes as it used to.

Considering the chances of getting something useful from a chest? Not really. Considering how lackluster the designs of weapon collections have been? Double not really. It’s as simple as looking at the prices of the new stuff. Nothing spiked, no grand numbers. They aren’t interestesting so there is no market and they remain cheap-ish.

SAB weapons look really lovely (yes, my opinion, others have different opinions, that’s cool too) but given the dwindling skins the prices have hit some meteoric heights. I even made a corrupted dagger to pass as a ghetto SAB dagger (no way was I paying 800g for one).

But google a bit, some people on Reddit posted opening 100 chests or such. The results speak for themselves.

I think the soaring weapons (especially the bladed ones and bows) will get higher in price later on after resellers buy some in bulk and save them for when Anet removes them from the ticket exchange. I bought all the Christmas dyes when they were in the double digits, now gold fusion is the second most expensive dye exceeding even blacklight so I made the right call in buying them while they were way cheaper to avoid spending much more later.

I think we need another fire themed set. On many phoenix weapons you can barely see the fire while the fused weapons are ultra rare and expensive.
