Any reason to come back to gw2 ?
Lots of things to do / work on. Fractals: it’s not about the gear (for me), it’s about bragging rights…. how far can you get?
Also, a full CoF set is nice gear, but for me, I have my eye on the harder to come by exoitcs…. yes, the stats are the same, but I’m really looking forward to putting together a Vision of the Mists and watching people go “ooooohhh… what’s that and how do I get one?”
Depends what you’re in to. I know you did CoF, but have you done all the other dungeons? What parts of game play do you enjoy the most?
I’ve put the game on hold atm, they have changed the drop rates drastically so that 80% are what the merchants in game call ‘junk’ the rest are mats with an occasional blue (if you’re lucky). No fun at all killing monsters for ages for junk.
I’m waiting for a reply from Anet in one of the two threads concerning loot to know how long before a fix or if this is intentional so I can uninstall and move on.
i think the biggest problem i have is that i don’t really see what money can be used for in gw2….
Everyone has the best gear alrdy (that can be bought) and i don’t think that the armor / weapon designs in this game are that good, so i dont wanna spend money on skins :p
I think i bought 200 ectos before stopping for all my money just to keep it’s value but i still don’t know what to do with it… (i’m not giving it away…)
See what i mean?
Indeed there is,

for me, none. I want major design changes in www and pve. they aint coming with yet another event aimed at rack money from gem sales.
In many ways, GW2 follows on from GW1, gear is not ‘better’ but high level skins have more exclusivity. If what you’re looking for is something ‘better’, it will be coming over the course of the next year as they roll out Ascended gear, but not much beyond that.
If you have fun with part of the gameplay…. ie: you have fun getting together with friends and doing dungeons, or enjoy exploring every nook and cranney of the game, there is a great deal out there.
I dunno, I was the guy in GW1 who did Bloodstone Caves over and over again till I got my r9 Command Equine Aegis….. not that I couldn’t have bought one ages before it dropped, but I had fun doing the dungeon and working to see if I could reduce my personal fastest run as much as one minute more.
I’ve seen some people posting videos of solo attempts on dungeon bosses that are pretty impressive…. again, it’s playing for bragging rights, being a more skilled player.
What part of the game did you have fun playing?
If you’re looking for vertical progression and a new bis tier, you got it with ascended gear. You want expensive gear that costs a full stacks of ectos and t6 mats? Well you got that too with ascended gear… You want to take a long time to acquire said gear? You got that as well as the ascended rings drop randomly from a chest at level 10+ fractals daily.
From your last post, you may wanna check out fractals and the new gear, and see if it’s to your taste. The top people running the highest level fractals are doing so for the challenge and not for the gear. If you’re going for the gear, you could probably just stop at level 20 fractals, since you don’t get any new gear from higher level fractals. You do get more fractal relics. I don’t believe there is an actual limit to the fractal levels. However, it will be limited by how much agony resist your group has, as eventually the agony ticks will 1 shot everyone.
It’s still a MMO so nope.
Just buy Torchlight 2 instead. Endless entertainment for less than half the price.
New friends and new Role Play opportunities with you’re a role player. Or trying to master every class and every weapon with all their kill count. Or collect all dyes. Or have people spam you with mail to get your mail box full to get that help feature achievement.
There is plenty to do if you like completing things or just having good old fun with others.
If you play a game just to grind gear and levels this will probably not be the game for you, and as it was advertised as a game that focuses on horizontal progression and not gear grind, I honestly don’t know why you would have been interested in it in the first place. If it was out of curiosity that’s fine, but if you were expecting a treadmill to keep you playing then there was no reason to expect much from it in the first place.
If you were playing it to explore and venture through a persistent online world, then yes, there would be a reason to come back and there would have never been a reason to have left.

Lol what?
Talk about repetitive.
On the spvp side of things, people are still getting their hopes up for the upcoming mid December patch. Mid December patch, just like the mid November patch, has many people saying that it will either make or break the game in regards to spvp. Many say that the November patch went in the right direction but did not have enough changes to warrant them continuing to play. So expect a flood of returning players next Friday, and a lot of further changes perhaps even more changes then the previous patch.
There definitely won’t be matchmaking or custom servers coming because the developers have said those features will have to wait until 2013. However there should be plenty of balance fixes and bug fixes to all the classes. Many ranger bugs are being fixed and also engineer bugs as well. I don’t think there’s going to be a new spvp map, but we may see some changes to the current ones, especially the newest addition temple of the silence storm.
O and the heart of the mists is probably going to be covered with snow if you’re into that sort of thing.
As for world vs. world, there already is a post made by a developer talking about some drastic new implementations into a world of vs. world. On the forum today these got a very positive response, so they should be worthy two return to the game for. I expect the blog post tomorrow about the PVE changes, and the day after words something about world of vs. world. However I am hesitant to say that there will even be a blog post dedicated to spvp. I mean well would there be to say: " hey guys we balance the classes and fixed some bugs we hope you keep playing spvp OK thank you"
