I swear when I first picked up the game that visiting a scout would actually reveal part of the map. I was super excited by this! But by the time I made it out of the first area, it had been changed.

Am I the only one that’s sad to see this feature go?

This never happened, they reveal it in the cutscene, but it doesn’t stay.

I prefer to reveal it myself.

It revealed the map during the sequence, but not permanently as far as I’m aware.

It’s definitely not permanent now, but I swear it was when I first started.

(I just tried to find older game update logs but I can’t find them on the forum or on the wiki. Anyone know where I can read old updates?)

I’m also pretty sure they actually revealed the map in the beta.
Once I noticed that is not/ no more the case I didn’t even bother talking to them anymore. Might as well find the points myself….

During BWE1 they did reveal the map for you. If I remember correctly during BWE3 it was changed to the current state is in.

I’m quite sure they did reveal the map too. It was a lot better that way, in my opinion.

This is the case.

I could understand the change lore wise since you technically affect the scout by performing the tasks but it would have been great to keep the reveal map functionality.

They used to reveal parts of the map permanently in beta but I don’t really miss it anyway never used them much.
