Anyone Else Really Enjoying Dungeons?
I really like AC. It took us a while to work things out.
I really hate CM. I don’t know why….I just do.
TA was nice. But still not as fun as AC was.
now I have to do the rest
Yes I am. I also found the WoW heroics incredibly boring and easy in the dungeon finder era, I only did them to get epic gems to put in the AH. TBC was a better.
I hope Anet add a lot more dungeons, and not easy ones either. If I make a mistake the game should kill me for it, otherwise it’s boring.
i hate AC. Every molecule of my body hates that place, I refuse to set foot in it every again.
Yet, i love Caudeceus’s Manor and i absolutely love Sorrow’s Embrace (that last boss on story mode was incredible).
I’ve only done AC story mode…but it was fantastic. We got a team of guildies together and found it to be challenging but great fun. I can’t wait to try more.
Personally I think the difficulty level of both AC and CM are ridiculous.
I love a good challenge as much as the next guy but I view the current complete overpoweredness of the encounters just stupid. (I do find the ghost at the end of AC explore too easy though).
The current game play moves beyond challenging and fun, to just plain tedious (do trash mobs really need 3 million HP’s and to have the ability to 1 shot me?)
I will be leaving the game shortly if it does not get addressed.
Flame away but almost every group I get into seems to share my feelings…
Really loved Arah story mode, the 2 Dragon Champion fights on the ship were extremely amusing for some reason, the parts before them as well.
Although Zhaitan, that’s supposed to be the big thing here, got me a bit disappointed. Protecting a stupid laser and then spamming the “2” button on the cannon while he latches onto a tower is really, really boring.
This is good to hear. I haven’t done dungeons yet but all I hear is people complain about them. So you’re saying there’s a chance….
My guildies and I have a had a blast doing the dungeons, and I’m looking forward to doing more

The last fight was (and possibly still is) bugged.
I’ve only played three of them, but had a good time doing it. My only complaints have been the bugs in them, but hopefully most of that has been ironed out now.

Have we gotten any indication that it’s actually a bug from the devs? I think it’s just a consensus of the players at this point. It’s either bugged….or horrible to a new level of epicness.
Nope
Yesterday i did Arah for the very first time.. was amazing(except final boss of course).
But fighting dragons in a ship.. pretty cool.
Whew, thanks. Considering it’s a bug that ALWAYS happens, EVERY time…I have to wonder how this didn’t get fixed before launch….
Must have been a regression issue of some sort.
AC makes me wish I never bought this game. It’s one thing if I’m dodging a super-powerful move that’s used once in a while, but when their normal spam attack hits hard enough to two shot even the bulkiest player then no amount of dodging will help you. Not being able to stand up because one of the bosses is juggling you around the room with an instant-cast AOE spell and immediately killing you after isn’t fun. There’s a difference between challenging, hard, and just cruel, and this is cruel. I’m sure you all can solo it in 15 minutes or whatever with your pure power build and think I’m inferior because I don’t have infinite dodge like the rest of you, but I personally wish someone would collapse the ceiling on that place and solder the door shut.
Dungeons in this game are demoralizing and tedious. With that said, they are the worst dungeons that I’ve ever played in any MMO.
Enjoying dungeons? I was until I only got 6 tokens for completing it for the first time.
Are these guys actually trying to destroy their own MMO a month after it comes out? I don’t get their mentality at all.
no one enjoys that, no one finds it fun.” – Colin Johanson
R.I.P. in piece, Guild Wars 2, August 2012 – September 2012
When I did them with guildies I had a lot of fun. I’ve not tried to do them with a pug so I can’t give an opinion on that.
just ran TA, had a blast. 2 bosses need to get buffed though (first and third champion), they could be facerolled. rest of the dungeon was amazing =) gj ANet

meh. just be patient. do something else for a while.
Not really. The camera issue is still an issue.
game seems so casual and then you hit the dungeons wtf.
the curves of difficulty feel like waves, and there are tuning issues but aside from it being hard to get dungeon groups due to lack of players…
But yes, I love dungeons in GW2 they’re my favourite part of the game even if they’re not perfect
Um, no the dungeons are the essence of sub par. There not challenging for anyone who has played MMO’s before, they are drawn out, and generally unrewarding now that everyone can get a item in 3 runs or under 2 hours. But that isnt the problem the problem is they are trivial and mechanically boring.
Well, they could be a bit harder, but i think they are quite amusing!
I’m looking foreward for more
I also think that for the next Content Updates, Anet can also afford to make dungeons harder!
I enjoyed story mode for most of them. Honour of the Waves was really boring though. I can’t talk much about explorable mode. I’ve only been in a couple of groups as people don’t seem to want to do them, or I just can’t find them. I’m trying to find a server with an active dungeon population so I can actually experience this content. I wish ArenaNet had made it easier to form a group for them.
Exact opposite. I’ve done one dungeon, and as it stands, I will never do another one. Worst experience I’ve had in any MMO ever, hands down.
I didn’t miss the trinity until I did a dungeon. Now I feel otherwise.
I love the dungeons. Found some good players to run them with, and while there are some issues, like certain trash packs taking way too long (looking at you, pre-Giganticus trash) and the bugged token system, the dungeons themselves contain a lot of interesting encounters, like the rocket-reflect in CM and the Evolved Husk in CoE. They are also challenging, but once you find the tactics and the group coordination, clearing them is punishing at all. Some people can’t handle the different system and difficulty, and go in expecting the same dungeon experience as other games. They have a hard time learning that explorables work completely differently.
Only part I liked in AC was the trap part where you could either play trigger the spikes or play bait and run around.
The more I think about it, there’s less to hate, but I still hate dungeons because of the ridiculous difficulty, reducing my tank guardian to a dead body in mere seconds.

I like them though I think some could use a tweak….
Subject Alpha comes to mind in particular, not so much the mechanic of the fight, but that it takes so long to down him yet nothing in the fight changes. Yes, WoW has long fights, but those are usually comprised of multiple phases. We get what we have to do for Subject Alpha, why does it have to take 10 minutes of the same thing though?
I hate instanced dungeons with a passion. AC was a bore and I could happily never do another one.
An instanced dungeon is just MoBs with 10x more health that hit 10x harder for the next 2 hours of your life. How is that exciting or interesting?
Hated instances since EQ invented them, and still hate them today. I’m glad Anet realizes that overland content should be just as exciting as instanced content, and hope they continue down that much needed path. Open world raids are AWESOME!!!
I hate instances too. I miss when dungeons were public places full of other players.
Story does absolutely nothing for me in an MMO, anyhow.
