Guild Wars 2

I have been the playing the game since the day it came it out. I have done everything that there is to be done. Leveling characters to level 80, all the dungeons, map completion, world boss train, going for a legendary. I even made a couple of friends online. Now all my friends stopped coming on and so I find myself logging in to get the daily chest and back out again.

I really enjoyed playing GW1 and was hoping GW2 would be similar with better graphics. I miss the stories and heart that GW1 had. I find my self playing other games like SWOTOR or Dragon Age Inquisition, both these games do not have a subscription fee. Main reason I started preferring these games is because it a quest where you make the decisions and really care and develop relationships with your companions and doesn’t require zerking.

Does anyone else feel with me on this? I miss the fantasy world that could be happening in GW2. I don’t want to grind anymore, I want to have fun and adventure!

Yea I got bored so I started playing some new games.

When there is more stuff to do/experiences to be had, I’ll come back.

You shouldn’t be forcing yourself to play if you’re not enjoying it/being engaged, that’s called an addiction.

You know, it’s normal to get bored of something, especially since you’ve been playing from the launch.. It’s life, it’s ok.

You got your worth of the 50$ you paid. Move on if it doesn’t interest you, plenty of other games or other things to do. Nobody needs to justify himself for getting bored

I have been playing GW2 since a month after release, and I still don’t find it to be a grind and/or boring. If it gets to that point for me, I will quit or take an extended break.

Why not take a break and wait until the new expansion comes out? The expansion will at least give you some new things to do/try.

Or, just find a different game to play that is more entertaining for you. Nothing wrong with that.

I’m in agreement with others – getting bored happens, just take a break. That’s just life, we all need variety.

I’ve been playing since beta, and yes occasionally I feel bored or I just don’t feel like playing. At which point I go do something else – watch some tv, read a book, take my dogs for a walk, etc.

I played during launch as well, but I have to agree with the general sentiment in the thread. Don’t be afraid to leave for a few months, when you come back everything will be a little more fresh (maybe with a few changes) and certain elements in the game will feel new again. (Plus you don’t have to worry about falling behind because no new tiers/levels to worry about with expansion).

I dk… I just compare this heavily with GW1. The first expansion came out 6 months after the main release. Also, I found the other games game I have been playing every couple of months there is an expansion. Those other games don’t require too much payment unless you want super awesome stuff for your account or the expansion pack.

I think I was misunderstood, I DO NOT play GW2. I log in for my daily chest and out again. And I have taken breaks from the game, months at a time. This would be my third or fourth break in the time this game has been out. Really, I have no problem to pay for a quality game, I just wish it was an option to.

The only reason I am bored is because I am at work :P

No the game isn’t boring. But if you ground out everything quickly, then there isn’t much else to do. That isn’t the games fault. There have been some awesome story things going on, which introduced a bunch of cool new things to do. PvP is fun to do, as well as WvW. It really just comes down to what you think is fun.

GW1 was fun and yes, I expect more from the sequel. My bad.

I play games for 1 thing: Adrenaline kick
If I play gw2, I can trigger this kick @ WvW, or pvp.
But mostly I gain it in 1v1 fights. As long as I can trigger this adrenaline kick out of this game I keep playing it. It’s fun after all.

No. I’ve played since beta, the game continues to improve and I am still enjoying it very much.

I’ve been playing since launch, and I’ve gotten bored and frustrated with the game several times. I go do something else when it happens. Thanks to not having any monthly fee, I ignore and pick it up again when I feel like it. Only down side of this has been missing some of the LS Season 1 content that’s gone for good. I missed recipes, etc. I would have liked to have but that’s the way this game is run, so nothing I can do about it.

Actually, it took them a year to come out with Factions, but that’ s neither here nor there.

I’m going to say stop comparing to GW1. Yes, it’s the same company. Yes, it’s a sequel. However, while it is rooted in the same world, GW2 is an entirely different animal.

This sounds more like GW2 just doesn’t suit your taste. It’s not offering anything you desire to do, which is fine. Not all games are for all people. Obviously if you’ve played through the content and don’t find any enjoyment in doing any of it again on another character (or if you couldn’t finish it on your first one) then maybe you need to reevaluate what you’re looking for. Don’t force yourself to play because you feel you like you “should” or like you “need to” because neither are viable reasons to play. If you honestly can’t say ‘I enjoy this’ then you shouldn’t be doing it.

Were you expecting it to be a content patch?

I am pretty sure Anet said that there wouldn’t be any more content until the expansion is launched, so any patches we do get are going to be QoL stuff. Which is what we got today. Fixes to the party kick system (something that has been asked for and needed for a very long time), FoV update (again something that has been asked for for a very long time), a change to stability, and some balance fixes. Which collectively make for a great patch. Sorry you set your expectations on something that you knew you weren’t going to get….

I’ve been playing since early access. I have taken a couple of breaks in that time. The last one was for all of Season 2. But now I’m back and working my way through that story, and I’m even taking a break on the story to level up some more characters. I’m making Maudry. I’m doing dungeons. I’m still maining the same character I made on the first day. I’m playing the game a few hours every day, which is about as much time as I have in a day.

So no. I’m not bored. When I get bored I take a break. But no game currently available to me is keeping my attention as well as this one.
