Anyone have two if the same class?
Yes I have 2 lvl 80 wars (one asura, one norn), 2 lvl 80 thieves (one human, one asura), 2 lvl 80 rangers (one norn, one charr), and 2 lvl 80 guardians (one norn, one sylvari). I have the asura war and thief for spvp and the other duplicates were for armor styles or in the case of my sylvari guardian a dedicated wvw toon. Now that they have put standard models in rated spvp and made wxp account bound……my reasoning for some of the doubles are obsolete.
1 of everything, but 2 engi’s one of the last professions I leveled, tried to have a variety of races/sexes, and well ended up with char male engi… hated it, so went with a second Asura engi, love it.
Going for a second Guardian next, original was Asura, next will be Human I think. All I have left is Male human and Female charr… not sure what I want to make for the charr… god they’re terrible to play.
I have duplicate warrior, guardian, ranger, and ele.
Doing so lets me avoid the hassle of retraiting between PvE and WvW (?!?!??!? TEMPLATES WHERE ?!?!??!?!). This also allows for rapid swapping between two different builds for tPvP (staff vs d/d ele, hambow vs axebow, power vs condi ranger, bunker vs dps guard).
to be faceroll at the high levels, because it
needs to be accessible to the casuals and bads.
I used to have 2 guardians, one Asura and one Human. Then I realized Asura’s little daze skill was too awesome, so I deleted my human one (even though he was 80) for another character slot, of which I gave up on with trait changes lol
I’ve got… let’s see… Not counting Key Farm slots..
2 Engineers.
2 Elementalists.
3 Rangers.
3 Warriors.
2 Guardians.
1 Thief.
1 Necromancer.
1 Mesmer.
That’s as I remember it right now, off the top of my head. (And not counting Ranger #4, who’s on the chopping block due to concept recycle.) I’m a RPer, so for me it’s not a matter of changing out stats and gear, each character has their own concept. My two guardians are both charr, and they’re as different as night and dishsoap. I tend to go through periods of playing some, and then I drift to some others, then back to the first group in time.
Needless to say, they’re not all level 80.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
I’ve got a 2nd Thief. I created the character to test the NPE, and all of my other 8 characters are at 80 (one of each profession). I might keep that character, I might use it to do skill components of dailies/monthlies until I delete it. I’ve got that slot and two more, but am not that interested in using them, and will not be buying any more unless the trait system gets a lot better — and the best it could be made, imo, would be to be reverted.
I have 2 mesmers, 2 warriors, 2 guardians, 2 necros, 2 rangers, 2 eles, 1 engi and 1 thief.
3 asura, 2 sylvari, 9 humans.
8 females, 6 males.
12 of them are level 80s. 1 is in the 50s (asura warrior), and 1 is in the 30s (sylvari necro). Both the ‘lowbies’ were created before the trait system redesign, so I won’t have to deal with the hassle of unlocking their traits. When there are two of the same profession, I tend to use different weapons and armors and builds to emphasize their differences. My asura ele, for example, uses a staff (sometimes dagger/dagger) and has mostly celestial armor, while my human ele uses scepter/dagger and has zerker gear. The asura ele feels a little bit like a CoH defender and the human ele is more like a blaster.
I’d like to go for another engi and another thief, but until anet does something constructive with that trait system redesign, nope.
3 Mesmers, 2 Guardians, 2 Warriors, 2 Necromancers — actually 3, the 3rd isn’t 80 yet — 1 Elementalist (and a 2nd who is an RP shill, not to level), 1 Thief, 1 Engineer, 1 Ranger.
I think that’s the list. Of the duplicate classes, no two of the same class are the same race, and I vary the gender as well. They each get their own RP personality, and I try to give them weapon variety, though all the mesmers have GS and all the necros have staff as a go-to.
That variety is the answer to your “why?” I am an altoholic, so long as I can have different IC and game roles for each alt.
I have 3 Rangers. All different races. I do it because sometimes I feel like playing a different personality so I choose the ranger I want to play based on my mood that day. They all have the same build right now, but I imagine in time I will make 3 different builds or something of the kind. Until Arena Net sells a race changer at the Gem Store, I predict I will be constantly making repeat classes.
There are only 8 professions and I have 23 characters, so…
I also like to try and make them different from each other in skills, weapons and personality.
27 characters. The only class I only have 1 of is Engineer.
I want to have one of every race/class combination.
24 chars 3 of each class all level 80 8 of them are asuran lol. No free slots…Stoping At 24 till new class or races come out.
Edit: Why you ask …..I Don’t know a lot of free time plus lots of combos and builds and looks to choose from. Also it helps farm for stuff I don’t want to buy like orichalum and ancient trees.

2 rangers
My ranger was my first character, and the only one I have with 100% wc
So wanted another ranger for pvp. So I don’t have to switch weapones everytime I go from pve to pvp.
At first I had 8 unique, but I found the engineer to be such a piece of worthless $#*$%&^I deleted him for a Guardian which I reserve for PvP now
I have:
16 Engineer
3 Elementalist
3 Ranger
7 Warrior
3 Guardian
5 Thief
4 Necromancer
6 Mesmer
why? because I wanted to build my own personal army of asura (42 of my characters being asura, the other 5 are charr) and because I like playing different builds without having the burden of keeping that many weapons/armor pieces on one character. that and I have way too much time.
| 61 Asura | 5 Charr | 2 Norn | 1 Human | 1 Sylvari |
Yea, i have 3 guardians and 2 thieves. Reasons? It’s like creating new image i guess, new persona. Plus, what else there’s to do? xD
Multiples of several characters mostly to mix up teh races and do different gear looks. Also different gear and builds in general. I don’t mind hot swappign gear but a lot of times I just like to swap characters because the play style is different completely for some builds. Going form a Healing Guardian to a Zerk’ DPS guardian with different weapon sets entirely is a huge difference. So I make alts of professions I love.
Currently:
2 Guardians
2 Elementalists
2 Rangers
2 Mesmers
2 Warriors
1 Thief
1 Engineer
1 Necromancer
“What Part Of Living Says You Gotta Die?
I Plan On Burnin Through Another 9 Lives”
3 Engineers
3 Rangers
2 Warriors
2 Thieves
1 Guardian
1 Necromancer
1 Elementalist
1 Mesmer
Why? Well, one Ranger, one Engineer and one Thief are on my second account. The second Engineer and Ranger in my first account are for gender and race alternatives.
Why only one of the silk classes and Guardian? I don’t like those professions at all. I don’t even know why I keep them around. If I start playing GW2 again, I will probably delete them all to free up spaces.
I have 10 characters, all level 80. 2 Sylvari, one male, one female. 2 Norn, 1 male, 1 female. 2 Asura 1 male, 1 female. 1 female Charr. 3 humans, 1 male and 2 female. I’ve got 1 of every profession except mesmer which I have 3.
The reason I have 3 mesmers is because they are my favorite and I used to like leveling. There are so many different builds/weapon combos that I wanted to try but back when it cost money and even more of a pain finding a trainer to retrait it was easier to just make more than one.
I have two level 80 engineers (one Charr, the other Norn) and two elementalists (one a level 23 Asura that I haven’t done much with in a long time, the other a new level 14 human that I just started yesterday). I used to have two mesmers, one Norn and the other human, but I deleted the Norn a while back – she was only in her level 20’s and I was concentrating on other characters, though I might recreate her if/when I get another character slot.
I have five engineers (one/race), two warriors, two guards, two rangers and three thieves. As I have one of each other class and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon, the duplicates will likely continue to increase.
Yes, I have a few sets. Why? Multiple races. Why again? ’Cause I can.
3 Rangers, 2 Mesmers, I once had 2 Wars, thieves, elementalist, guardians and engineers but cut those down to 1.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I have 1 of each in each race. It was simply something I wanted to have. Since I didnt care much for the legendary I was free to pursue that goal. I also have 4 mules with random professions. It is also fun just to see how certain traits work with the racial skills.
