i strongly noticed WvW decreasing, the first time i ever was in there was like WOOOOOW such a huge zerg of us :o omg how cool

now where the heck is everyone

Sony Online just launched their latest f2p MMO which supports thousands of players engaged in WvWvW like battlefield. Their WvWvW is the main dish of their game while GW2 WvWvW is just a side dish here. Some of our former WvWvW players are there in the new game currently.

whats that mmo?

I don’t want to be selling other games as I am still a staunch supporter of GW2. I am just highlighting the competition. Turning a blind eye to the competitors does not mean it will go away. I highlight it to spur GW2 to do better than them, not to sell their game to the GW2 community.

Server still full, overflows and queue for wvw

There’s probably more people playing GW2 right now than any other MMO, WoW included. Ever check the activity stats for WoW? It’s really really low, with a ton of dead servers.

Could just be because other games are out so people are playing those. Like AC3 and Far Cry 3, which I’m getting now.

Your cause of comfort is my exact cause for concern.

While you are relishing the sweet scent of bliss up in your tower looking at the downfall of enemy tower, I am look at the competitor massing their ram machine at the gate below in preparation of assault shall their own tower falls.

Argueably the strongest competitor in WoW has seen a continual demise of their game which you have pointed out. Indication that their first outer gate has been breached came when they announced f2p for their game up to level 20. At the same time, they are preparing and sweetening their ground for f2p item-mall business model through the gradual introduction of paid mounts (not unlike Rune of Magic), paid items etc. They still have supplies to defend their inner gate but I see their supplies running out. In recent days, they announced a 50% discount on their panda expansion pack. When finally the day when their inner gate is breached and they go full-blown f2p, the competition is going to cannibalize GW2 badly, imho.

They may lost their old tower, but they may capture many of GW2 existing towers in return.

I am leaving because I am tired of wasting time trying to run fractals only to have me or someone else disconnect. Wasted time. I have been patient for three weeks but then they issue two patches and one to nerf fractal exploits but nothing to correct the disconnection issues. I know some have no trouble but also there are many that have the same problem I have been having. I have played many online games over the years but have never had the number of disconnects I have had with this game, especially since Halloween.

My server(stormbluff) always seems full. Can’t tell you the last time I wasn’t in an overflow in LA or any busy place really. Granted we’re one of the top wvw servers usually so I’m sure we get a lot of transfers and such.

Stormbluff resident here too. And yeah, last time I logged on, there were still people in every map I went too, and I was always in overflow in LA.

I’d have to login to answer this question, hence I’ll pass.

(Waiting for some WvWvW love – culling fix being priority #1 imho)

I guess I will add in my own limited personal view to counteract other people’s limited polling of the game.

Ran through the norn starting area last night and saw plenty of people. Some called out a champion svanir was up and about a dozen people were there when I arrived.

LA had me in overflow last night and I ended up going to cursed shore to help with a successful grenth run.

What it comes down to is that people are now spread out. We all aren’t low levels climbing over each other where dozenS of people are on our screen. Now I do notice there are more norn and human players in the game and that their areas are more populated. Asura areas are empty but you can’t force people to play those races.

About the LA overflow it just hits me wierd.

Overflow in LA stopped existing after 2-3 weeks post release. Then it hit back in the Karka event after two months period.

And it exists since then.

Seeing that the LFG has quite been low compared to the first weeks, i wonder:

Has ANET reduced the limit of allowable players per instance of LA? Maybe thats the reason we get overflow? Reduced population per instance to help the event (or maybe post event, after the farcry of major perfomance issues) but not nearly as much players per instance as it were pre-Event?

I personally have noticed less and less people on the Darkhaven server. It’s getting harder to get a dungeon group for… well, anything. A real shame too, I really like this game.
