Anyone tried playing GW2 on an Nvidia Shield?
Nvidia Shield is just starting to ship today. But disregarding that, currently the only games that can be streamed from the PC to the Shield are games found on Steam. Then on top of that, only a nvidia GPU that was produced in the last year and half can actually support the streaming. It seems like an interesting device, I have been reading up reviews on it since they are starting to emerge from different tech sites.
Honestly? If you want to play on a gamepad, buy a gamepad but I don’t have an urge to play this game on what? a 5"? 7"? screen.
Plus as Zypher pointed out it just came out today. It’s not like it’s at BestBuy yet plus you need a highish end GTX 6xx series card for it to work properly.
RIP City of Heroes
There are things you could do on a small screen – crafting or bank management, maybe some farming or map clearing.
I didn’t know that it only worked with Steam games, I wonder if more GPU power makes the streaming experience better?
If it works with GW2 and wouldn’t break TOS, I would be pretty interested.
Nothing on the nVidia Shield, but I found a video of someone playing it on an Asus Transformer.
Uses software called Kainy (kainy.com). Apparently it streams any game on your PC to any Android Phone/Tablet or PC (Windows, Mac, Linux running Chrome). It’s pretty neat.

This is not true. There is an option in Steam to add non-Steam games to your library.
best statistical loot in the game. We want everyone on an equal power base.”
I have an nvidia shield and while you can play games from Steam it also lets you play games such as Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft by using a bluetooth controller and keyboard as well as a monitor. The idea being you can take it to lan parties and play without having to take your desktop with you
I also just noticed how old this thread is and apologize lol
