AoE and Out of Range
I know that you can cast meteor swarm mid fiery retreat, though I’m not sure about any other spell combinations.
It’ll cast once you end the animation of fiery retreat, and, even if you’re out of range of where you targeted it, it’ll still cast where you placed the spell.
I know of this exploit but it is really more simple than that. Just some tweak that would allow you to do it even if immobile.
Perhaps I was not clear, I’ve meant as a suggestion for gameplay improvement.
That does not sound like a very good idea. Instead of giving an “Out of Range” message you throw your grenades 10 feet in front of where you wanted it to go and then completely miss your target. Either don’t use instant cast or learn to judge distance better.

Say you target L. Flash on the screen 1000 units away, instead of canceling the spell you just move 900 units on the direction towards your target, working like a blink spell. That just it. I can’t comment over the objection; it’s incomprehensible – perhaps you could make it more clear (or you’re just eager to say L2P).

As I said, some skills not all. I thougth of grenades specifically since they are projectiles, and would be useful not as a mean for hitting anything but for harassing crowds and keeping the distance in wvw.
Ele fire staff #1 hits outside of weapon range because of its blast.
