AoEs got nerfed?
5 targets? It felt like only 2 targets, lol. Nerf bat, ruins a good game since <insert first MMO created year>
AOE has always affected only 5 targets (tho pulsing ones like necromancer wells will hit different ones each time if there are more than 5 within the area).
For a while after launch support AOEs hit all there was, resulting in people bunching up so PBAOE heals would cover the whole group (while incoming AOE attacks only affected a small number of them). This was since corrected to only affect 5 as well.
Haven’t noticed a change at all
Basically you throw a grenade at 5 dudes bunched together you can hurt them all, but if you throw a grenade at 20 dudes bunched together you’ll only hurt five at most.

I hope it is offset by having monsters AoE do the same – like… if Jormag or the Sunless one breathes at an army of players attacking his feet, he should only be able to hit five of them. I don’t mind stupid mechanics, as long as they apply to everything in the world.
I really would hope and wish that if 20 of anything stood on the same spot…they’d all get kilt/hurt by the grenades/other AOE. But I know they need some sort of mechanics behind it. I still haven’t noticed a difference though
The AoE changes haven’t happened yet. The devs just let everyone know that player AoE already has a 5 player limit. They said they are still deciding on how to make changes and what abilities will be affected.
