Guild Wars 2

Please. I’d just like to know if this is going to happen any time in the near future. Just a yes or a no. It will save me a lot of frustration as I’ll be able to decide whether I should just delete my character and start over or hold out until you implement it.

I would also like to tweak the appearance of my level 64 Asura elementalist, certainly don’t want to re-role just for that.
Although i don’t want to pay an arm and a leg just for some minor changes.

I deleted a 53 Asura mesmer because I decided I hated being Asura a bit too late in the game. I figured race changes would be too difficult given story missions/bio questions, etc.

Why did I DELETE him instead of just makin’ a new character? I knew if he was there, I’d just be tempted to go back to him and stop leveling the human mesmer that was his replacement. Out of sight/out of mind didn’t work for me :P

There are threads like this popping up on the Suggestions forum all the time. Search for any of them. One in particular got pretty popular and had a mod response along the lines of “We appreciate the suggestions and will certainly look into adding any features in the future that enough players might want.”

In short, I’m pretty sure this will be added in the future, hopefully in the first wave of updated items on the gem shop. I’d like to tweak my appearance too.

Well, I figured that it would be added in the future. It’s a matter of when though. If it’s too far down the road, it’s more efficient to restart. If it’s only, say, a month or two away. Then it would probably be better to just stick with the character.

That’s why I’d like an ETA of some sort. Not a promise. Just a “we think we could have this by X time” or “don’t count on seeing this for a while” anything along those lines would be great. I’m sure it would also benefit other people who are in the situation as I am.

They had make-over kits in GW that let you change everything but height, gender and base profession.

And there was a slightly more expensive extreme make-over kit that let you change everything but base profession.

The make-over kits were one of, if not the, biggest selling item in the cash-shop. It’s a pretty safe bet those are already on the table and you will see them eventually. But I’d expect them to be one of the more costly items. Comparable to additional character slots.

LOL! You’re a funny one. For the least five years, every single time anyone has asked Arenanet when anything will be available the answer has been “When it’s ready”. They remind me of Charelston Heston in The Agony and the Ecstasy. The day you get a direct answer from them on when a feature will be available or fully implemented, go ahead and give Gabe Newell a call also, and ask what the deal is with Half-Life 3.

I would like some confirmation on this as well. As the OP said, it would save many of us some frustration over whether we should delete our high level characters and re-roll or just wait for a re-customization option.

If they wont respond they dont have an eta.They will come though,dont worry.I think they have more important issues for now to work on.And be glad actually,its showing they have bigger priorities instead of making a quick buck from their cashshop.

I would say and ofc my opinion does not mean anything but… I would say race is never gonna happen due to story line. I could def. see physical apperance because they can make some decent money off this and not change the game at all. Gender is a bit iffy but again probably would say no.

I’d really appreciate an official word on this. I’m starting to lose the will to even play because I don’t know what would be best for me to do.

I sent in a support question about this, and they basically said they do plan to have it the gem shop, but they did not say when.

I personally made my Charr way too small and thin, enough to make armor look pretty bad on it. Yea, I also really wanted to just delete.

But seriously, just get over it. Make a new character (start an alt early) if its really that bad. Otherwise just wear full clothed armor, adjust your screen, and live with t.

I’ll live with it by not playing the game. I’m sure they’d like that.

I don’t know why it’s so difficult for them to say whether it’s going to be soon or will probably take a while.

I’d also like to add that I’d be more okay with re-rolling if it didn’t mean that all the dyes I’ve found/purchased and the inventory slots that I purchased, would go to waste.

They have more important things to get in the game first, than a pointless vanity mechanic.

Pointless vanity mechanic? I thought the entire point of Guild Wars 2 was the aesthetic aspect. At least, that’s how they advertised it. The entire point of acquiring gear at the level cap is purely for vanity purposes. How is character aesthetics not as important, if not more important than the armor itself?

I just find out my asura is too thin to make heavy armor look good… A appearance change kit would be a wonderful addition in the store…

and it’s not pointless. This will be one of the best income for anet in the store as soon as it comes out.
