Guild Wars 2

Not going into specifics about the patch. I just wanted to say i was on the fence about this game. My entire guild of nearly 50 players had all quit (no exaggeration). I was really feeling dissapointed and drained of this game already looking to future mmos and other games in general. Then i read about these changes and ran the new spvp map and did some dungeons and got some neat new loot.

I just wanna say, that as the last few hours a few of my friends who have not logged on in nearly 2 months logged on and a couple of my friends messaged me and the words getting spread fast. You guys got it on the ball!

I know theres some angry people, and i understand their anger in regards to certain changes…and i’m not gonna say everythigns perfect, i could easily make a list of 100 things that need improved. Not things that would just make me happy..but would make 98% of players happy. A few weeks ago i’d say “those kind of fixes and changes will never happen” now i could easily see things getting cleaned up.

Everything aside, i had a ton of fun and am looking forward to the future of this game now. I understand that “fun” is the goal after all. Like i said i understand some players concerns…but i think the changes are being handled very delicately while evolving the game to meet the players needs at a pretty amazing rate. New spvp map…..make every one past it like that and better. Cant wait for the weekend.

However, may I ask what was the motivation behind you and your friends’ return to the game? Was it “Woohoo new map/dungeon!” or “Woohoo new stuff to existing content!” and/or “Woohoo new item tier!”?

Honestly it was a mixture of the three. New map/dungeon was a big one for some. A lot of my friends like spvp and seeing that being taken seriously brought several people back (as many of them were looking forward to ranked play etc). New item teir and increased ways to get exotics seemed accepted overall though some had found it odd while others saw the new dungeon and ways to get more loot and newer teir loot as an expantion on the “end game” that they felt was lacking, combined with…new exploreable content.

Few of us talked about it, one guy mainly regained interest due to the large profession fix/changes so i think overall its just seeing stuff being taken care of that was concerning them all.

The craziest part is most of my friends were in betas of other games coming out or playing other big games…to see so many super excited again is really nice cause i really wanted to play this game. I cant speak for everyone, but i’m very excited.
