Has anyone noticed that the note though has funny elements, it also shown that devs do read the posts and hints of disapproval on somethings.

Or is it just me?

Several others have commented on that, so I’d say it’s not just you. =)

I noticed it too. Definitely some dev salt in there. Some of them were cute and amusing, but many I found bordered on mean-spirited or, in the case of the warrior joke, rubbing our noses in it.

Many alts; handle it!

Yeah, they seem to read some of the forums, but I’m still not sure if they fully understand what they are reading: some of the “jokes” woul even be reasonable solutions, and that worries me…

I thought the “salty” parts were funny too. I didn’t find them mean spirited at all.

It just shows that they are human. Also it shows the community that some things are in the game for a reason and constant complaining about it will not change things.

So I wouldn’t say those comments were mean but rather ironic.

I’m with jheryn here, and that tone has been consistent through all the April Fools patch notes in GW1. Either pop culture references (like the one year all Vampiric skills for necro would cause the caster to sparkle), jibes at recurring complaints or poking fun at balance choices.

They enjoy joking about themselves in game as well, I remember skills like “Isaiah’s Balance” and bosses like “Tenagg Flametroller”, and of course the “bearded reptile” Minister Caudecus.

Who, in fairness, is actually a reptilian sent here to take over the government…
