Change maps to trigger the bobble head effect

I spent the last hour going between two maps and didn’t see anything. Was there an update download for it?

It was worth it for the screenshots, but its kind of annoying —> so no fractals for me today :-)

(I personally would have preferred if the dev that made these would have been working on clipping issues instead)

Can you disable it? If not, im sure as hell not logging in today.

Just change your computer clock’s date to April 2nd and it will go away.

You shouldn’t have to log in to BIOS and change your system clock to alleviate this inconvenience. AreaNet should have thought that through and given the player to turn it of… or activate it at all

Easily done.

Re-logging does not permanently remove the effects. There are some ways to temporarily remove them that are a hassle to constantly do every few minutes to get rid of it after it returns, but there is currently no known way to permanently disable the bobble-heads…

Try completely quitting the game and re-entering, that worked for my friend

While it may not be for everyone, I think it’s hilarious and a shame for it to be just for the day. Just something to think about.

It’s still there. It’s buggy (not surprising, really) on what triggers it.

Ya, I didn’t have it either. I switched maps as well (wasn’t trying to trigger bobble heads). Then when I switched chars it triggered. I probably will get tired of it, lol. It blocks my vision when I’m trying to look for the vista doing map completion. Oh well, it’s just a day.

You don’t have to set your hard time. It works to just change your OS time. I agree that it would have been a good idea to have a toggle though.

I honestly don’t see what the huge deal is. The only reason I played around to disable it was so I could use my Total Makeover Kit.

Ah time to take a break in-game for 1 day…

I tried all the solutions like changing clock and relogging, they are only temporarily until u go into another instance or map, it is not a good solution at all.

For me, it activates when you enter a new zone. If you close the client and log back in, it’s normal again. If you are doing something instanced, then it can’t be turned off. So I’ll grant that that should have been able to be toggled.

That is only temporary until a character or map change when it returns (as well as at random every couple minutes). This has been pointed out by many. It is not a way to disable this disruption to gameplay.

This isn’t working.

Welp, gave it a try. After a few attempts I was able to get into HotM without a bobblehead. I did the same with WvW and was able to get into one of the Borderlands maps without a bobblehead BUT the act of changing Borderlands zones runs a high risk of bringing back the bobbleheads.

It’s possible that every time one changes maps there’s a chance of the bobbleheads coming back but I was able to get it. Not really a viable solution but still an option for those that REALLY don’t like it.

As that’s the case I don’t think I’m going to bother uploading the video showing the above.

Additionally, it’s highly possible that it has nothing to do with the changed date at all and there’s always a chance of loading up with no bobbleheads. :<

I think you have to change your clock in your bios, not in your windows.

Awwww come on. April Fools and you’re whining because you’re inconvenienced for one day in a videogame. Go Fool your co-worker/friend/spouse and lighten up!

I think the bobbleheads is the best thing that have happen to GW2. It adds back the much need humor and fun back into the game. Somwthing that is lacking since the days of GW1.

I believe bobbleheads should be a permanent addition to the game.

So I shouldn’t play on the one day that I have off because I don’t like a 24 hour joke? I think the prank is funny and was good but now I’d like it off. A disable feature would have been great, this doesn’t mean I’m anti-fun or hate Anet. It just means I’d like to be able to play the game normally while others enjoy the prank for longer.

I only wish I could be there for some of you when you’re trying to do something but something gets in the way and I could whisper, “Hey.. relax.. it’s only for a day!” I’m sure your response would be one of joy.

Log out and relog in and don’t change maps. One day won’t kill you.

Yeah. Why don’t we all play staying in one map… :p Anyway, I’m not a fan of it, but I can just go and do other things, instead. So, yeah, one day won’t kill us.
