Whoever thought this plane thing was a good idea does not understand April Fools at all.
It’s meant to be an “April Fools Joke”, not an “April Fools Let’s be Really Annoying to Everyone”.
From the comments I’m hearing in map chat, even those amused by it – the amusement isn’t lasting more that 30 seconds.
Perhaps it is a difference between the American and European humour, but this isn’t funny, it’s just really annoying.
People shouldn’t have to mess about with video and audio settings to make the game even semi playable and I bet half the players will forget to turn them back on after this annoying event is over.

I found it rather amusing. Yes, it would be nice to be able to turn it off, but for now I’m going to enjoy it.

I for one can appreciate the effort and give the April Fools Prank a chuckle but I kind of agree. Let me clarify however, I’m not upset but instead have decided to log out until tomorrow seeing how I have plenty of other means to distract myself lol.

Took me two years to craft Twilight and that was an hour ago. Logged off immediately. Sad timing, I guess. I also had the option to wait another day but yeah. Gonna come back tomorrow but I think 2 years of farm has been ruined.

This. I can see why it annoys ppl, but the amount of moaning and complaining is unbelievable and people are so overdramatic.

The fact is that you decided to troll me without knowing a single thing about me.
When I was 10ish my friends and I used to run around outside pretending to be WWII aircraft – usually because a film of that type had been on TV earlier that day, but that was quite some years ago.
These days due to some difficulty with an injury to my left hip I can barely walk, let alone run.
I play GW2 to have fun and enjoy myself and for a bit of escapism, not to be reminded of my physical infirmity.
No doubt as a proven troll you find this amusing – but that brings into question your sense of humour, not mine.

But the sheer volume of comments in map chat show that most people are finding “airplane mode” fun for a few minutes and then after the novelty has worn off and realising that they can’t turn it off are getting pretty annoyed by it which I think more proves my point.
