I notice that the teq chest has brought us rare quality aquabreathers but the stats are not really what I want so sticking with the masterwork one I have. I want to put a rune in it but since I cannot salvage them it is kind of scary to but an expensive rune in there since I have no way of getting it back if a better aquabreather comes out.

Is there any chance we are going to get a better quality aquabreather available to us soon? Are we ever going to be able to salvage these to get our runes back?

Transmutationsplitter can probably still remove the rune.

Data miners also found an item that would be able to remove a rune without destroying the item, but who knows if that will ever make it into the game.

My advice, for the limited amount of underwater combat that we do, don’t worry about it right now. You can add one later if you have the spare gold to dump in it. Or if you want to get the bonus now, throw the rune in there, and then just use a transmutation crystal if you need to move the rune to a better stat item.
