Guild Wars 2

Meaning say If I open them on a Necro, would I be more likely to get light armor from them, or is it all just random?

I open all mine on a mid-level Warrior. I don’t seem to get mostly Heavy Armor. Then again, I don’t really keep track. /shrug

There was a change awhile ago to make you get more loot that depends on your class, it doesn’t always seem to work out that way though.

Well I know that ANet said that they would make a minor tweak to item drop rates so you get more profession specific gear. However I don’t remember if they say it would impact only mob drops or chests as well.

Would be nice to know if switching to a different class would make that difference lol
