Are Sup Sigs of
Superior Sigil of Fire has a 50% chance of a critical hit. The same can be said for the Superior Sigil of Air. The only difference is that one has an AOE (Fire) effect while the other has a lightning bolt effect. I am curious ?
They are different types. So you can put both on the same weapon and both will proc. independently.
from what i remember they share the same cd so having both on weapons wont help
I am going to take a guess at what you complete question is. As I recall ingame, these state that they cannot be combined with sigils of the same type in a weapon. This means that you cannot use 2 superior sigils of fire for a double chance of a flame blast and it means that you cannot use a major and superior sigil of fire for 2 different cooldowns. However, i believe you CAN use a superior air and a superior fire to get 2 separate on crit skills
if thats not your question then I dont know waht you are actually asking
well, when using the GW2Skills.net Build Editor it segregates all of Sigils by type. Air and Fire are grouped together. That’s my understanding.
I’m pretty sure that works.

that used to be the case, but not anymore. only the same sigils share cooldowns with themselves (so if you have 2 sigils of fire, they share a cooldown)

GW2skills is segregating by category because thats the easiest way to make the ui not overwhelming. GW2skills is not created, supported, or maintained by ANet.
Yeah, you may be correct That Guy and that is why I am bringing this up here.
Thanks everyone !

Cheapest way to test if you want to see it for yourself is to test combinations out using minor versions (for air and fire) or a minor and a major (for 2 of the same, ie 2 fire) and watch the combat window.
Let me re-phrase my first comment …
They are different types. So you can put both on the same weapon and both will proc. independently. They do not share the same cool down.
Well I was sort of hoping a Guru (Present Company Included) would reply. A Guru or even better an ArenaNet programmer.

This is accurate.
Sigils were reworked with the first feature pack. So same type (on crit) used to share a cooldown until the sigil rework patch.
Fire and Air will play nice together now.
For the toast!
thank you, I think I have my answer :-)
I have fire and torment on a gs, they both proc.

How about someone that uses both?
I love it. Hit with a flame blast on one hit then follow up with a lightning strike. I did this on my Elementalist’s staff and my Ranger’s long bow. Makes for a nasty one-two punch.

As long as the two sigils do not share the same name(minor/major/sup versions count as same name), and are not both stacking sigils, they will work together.
