Sorry if the wrong spot I do not see a blacklion area anymore. I was just curious if dyes were still a good investment after the account bound changes.

Well, some dyes sell for quite a bit on the TP. I have a few that are worth about, um, 200G? Abyss isn’t that expensive but Celestial is going for a tidy sum.

Good luck.

Look at the Electro dyes to answer your question. Happy that I bought my pink one when they were “cheap”

The non-temporary dyes are the leave valuable as an investment.

Some of the limited-edition dyes have been great investments. Some not so much. Some were big winners for a time and then after ANet re-released them, they were losers for a lot of people.

They aren’t so much investments as they are speculation — keep that in mind that you might win (like Allisa did — gz!) and you might lose big, depending on how much you pay “now” and how long you wait.

There is still demand for dyes from all the new accounts that get opened, be it new players or alt account from vet players.
In general, dyes are good to flip as most have a decent price spread.
Every once in a while, Anet puts a new dye set into the gem store, just like now with the Lions Arch Rebuild dye kit, or re-releases an old one (either through direct buy or BL chest drops). Thats usually a good opportunity to invest in those dyes.
If you check the loot table of the new dye set for example, you will notice that it not only has the new dyes on it but also regular dyes. As those regular dyes have a high droprate atm, their prices tank sometimes more than 50%.

The Lions Arch Rebuild Dye Pack for example, also has Abyss Dye on its loot table, so its price tanked from 55g to 25g, so now is a good time to invest in them.
