Admit not as concerned with getting the drop, but I know a lot of people that were asking what the dates of the events were? Striving for better communication is never a bad idea. If its announced in one forum of social media it should appear on the main website first.
They said on their GW2 Twitter that they wouldn’t be dropping after May 10th anymore. Apparently a very sparse amount of people have been claiming to obtain them still. You can either believe Anet or you can believe the people that could very easily be trolling you into wasting a lot of time.
I would not play in either Dry Top or Silverwastes with the intention on getting a portal stone.

Their twitter message actually says “This is the last weekend portals will be dropping.” This is not as specific as saying “Portals will no longer be dropping after May 10th.” A weekend is made up of two days, so it could indicate that they’ll drop until the next weekend, or it could be a poorly worded statement that the weekend in question was the end date. Either way, it’s really tiresome that they have a “News and Announcement” forum area that they don’t even use.

As usual they exercised their ability to use poor word choices that confuse rather than clarify.
The weekend of the 9-10th being the last weekend could mean the drops stopped at Sunday, either midnight PT or midnight server time or it could mean they continued up to 5 more days and stopped at midnight Friday the 22nd, either midnight PT or midnight server time.
ANet has an amazing predilection to say things with the maximum amount of vagueness. And heaven forbid they should edit the announcement at the top of the forum from 19 days ago to say if it’s over or not.

Or, they did not meet their forecast minimum allotment, as they thought they would, and the Portal items are still dropping….albeit slowly, as the population has decreased in the affected maps considerably.
Im baffled why they havent updated their news page or front page. There is clear confusion because it indicates they are dropping, but twitter indicated otherwise.
If they would like constructive feedback, then it continues to be that clear and precise comms would be appreciated during fixed term events.
