Are the "How To Dance 1" dances real dances?
They’re not as much dances as they are dance moves.

Based on terms, at that. You’ve got the Gear Grind, the Inventory Shuffle, and the Dodge Step.
Well Grinding and Shuffle are both real dance moves, in fact there are 3 different moves called the Shuffle:

I’m not sure about Dodge Step, but I would assume it’s also based on a real dance move.

Dodge Step is probably supposed to be a one man Two Step.
Yeah, in fact two of them are featured in the Fresh Prince tv series several times, which is the origin of the norn dance.
Gear Grind is the old running man dance.
Not sure of the exact origin of dodge step, but the one in game probably came from the Fresh Prince, or at that is a very good real life example of it. Not the original audio and speed, but I just picked the shortest clip.
I don’t know anything about the inven shuffle.
