Completely false. The system has always started the tickets out at 1 ticket per skin, and then as new weapon sets were introduced, older sets were increased to a price of 2 or, later on in their life cycle, 5 tickets.

I have seen many brand new blk weapon skins start at 2 and 3 tickets. There is no gurantee that the next batch will be only one ticket. Its anets choice on how much they are worth if they feel they are worth two tickets instead of one there is nothing we can really do. The weapons may have taken a lot of effort to design and that may be why the weapons cost 2 instead of one who knows.

Hardly any new skins have been two tickets. When a skin is introduced, it’s almost always been 1 ticket and the previously-new skin becomes (usually) three tickets; some skins have ended up at a cost of two, but not all and usually not for long.

That is not the point, blindly defending a corporation, classic. This is nothing but a cash grab, not people being told to stop complaining and to not get it isnt a solution, you need to be able to critisize these types of decisions or eventually you can say screw ethics in general.

That point aside, this is a bit much, new skins have always cost 1 ticket, why the bump up to two? I personnally like the skins being a big fan of NF in GW1, I kinda want them however I’ve been saving my 1 ticket for this update to release given the pretense of oh new skins will only cost 1 ticket. Now im stuck with it and I cant get any skins this update cause none of them are 1 ticket. It’s like going to the candy store as a kid, buying a chocolate bar for 1 dollar 1 day, and then the next it’s 2 dollars. It’s DIGITAL content and I really dont see a justification for the bump in cost, especially since skins can be bought on the TP with ingame currency.

To start, I agree that raising it to 2 tickets is wrong with no warning. Many people like you and others that have been saving their 1 ticket just got slapped in the face.

That being said, I don’t think the person you quoted was defending a corporation, but stating a fact of real life. We have the right to not like the new price or agree with them upping the price, but it is what it is. If we cannot afford or don’t want to pay for the skins, we have the option to not buy them. That isn’t defending the corporation.

I don’t like when my electric or gas company raises the prices arbitrarily, but that’s life. That isn’t defending them, it’s just stating facts whether I like it or not.

They’ve always started at one ticket to the best of my memory then went up after the next new set was introduced.

These BL weapons have lost a lot of their value on the trading post due to how many get and sell them, so my guess is they’re trying to increase their value by decreasing supply.

Hopefully it’s a one-off because someone at Anet somehow decided this set is better than the previous ones and should cost more. I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if they’re testing the waters to see what they can get away with however.

Personally I’m more annoyed at yet another account bound mini pet in the chests. It’s finally pushed me to downgrade my long-term goal from “collect every mini-pet in the game” to “collect every mini pet EXCEPT those exclusive to real-money RNG”. I’m just going to ignore the existence of those because I’ve wasted far too much energy on trying to explain over and over why it’s a terrible idea.

Let’s say on average you get 1 ticket for every 10 keys used. Assuming you buy the most efficient keys, you could get an old skin for about 10$. They just upped that value to 20$… For a single skin, part of a skin pack. If you wanted to try and collect them all through tickets, it would cost about 320$ for the set. Of course, as usual, you’re better off buying the skins for gold and converting gems, but this is absurd.

BLC were already one of the most complained about topics for fashion wars 2, now the problem has been doubled. Soon they will bring back old releases for 10 tickets a pop…

All brand new weapon sets since I’ve been playing have been one ticket at release and I have purchased many individual items and some sets. I was going to buy the whole set if it was a good set since the last set I had bought was the Frozen one and really hated the Keepsake and Devoted set didn’t purchase one item from either. This set reminds me too much of the sentinels in The Matrix and I most likely will avoid any purchase since I’m not into squids. The price gouge is also disheartening since it also means to buy the set you’re now getting giped for a seven ticket reward.

I’m pretty salty over this. New BL weapon skins have always been 1 ticket each. I’ve been holding onto my BL scraps and tickets for about the last year, and finally have exactly 16 full tickets. I didn’t really like the design of the previous set (keymaster or whatever they’re called, I forget) so decided to save my tickets to buy a full set of the next set I liked.

I am absolutely not going to bother shelling out more money in the hopes that I’ll get another 16 full tickets to complete the set. If each new set that’s released is going to be starting at the 2-ticket minimum, I think I’m done bothering with these skins.

Very frustrated. I know I’m not owed or entitled to anything, I’m just frustrated that at the lack of consistency here. Why bother saving tickets if their value is indeterminate? Release the next set of skins at 4 tickets each and see how happy players are for that change. I’m sure the increased “value” of those skins will balance out the frustration, right?

Thanks.

They’ve always been one ticket. This is a huge let down for me. No, it doesn’t hinder my gameplay but those scraps I worked hard grinding for and for them to charge double prince is insane. Is this the new system? Charge regular price when they don’t put any effort into the skin and then double when they put in actual effort? Its a shame more people aren’t bothered by this.

If they wanted a cash grab, they’d add all sorts of things to the chests to make them more attractive to those spending RL currency.

This is the opposite of a cash grab, since it largely affects people who stockpiled tickets expecting to be able to get one skin/ticket.

Interestingly enough, this has actually cut the value of BL weapon tickets (when used toward these skins) in half. Current buy orders on TP for the new Abaddon skins are in line with what buy orders usually are for BL weapon skins on release day. The highest current buy order for any Abaddon skin is 92g. Current listings are around 150-160g, but these will likely also drop over the coming days, as they always do, and even this price is pretty standard for the day a new set is released.

Therefore it seems to me that the only players this change in price will affect are those players who either saved their tickets or hope to acquire them by chance via BLC.

So what was the intent with the change in price, then? The only logical conclusion I can make is that it was an effort to either try to remove more BL tickets from the game than normal (provided there was an overabundance lurking in player storage across the game), or to try to artificially increase the value of these skins. If it was the former, I guess it was probably a job well done. If it was the latter, it was an utter flop and backfired entirely.

That’s all conjecture on my part, though. We’ll never know the reasoning behind the decision for sure, but as it stands BL weapon tickets, on release day for the new set, are worth around 45g each. What a joke.

The way i see it, they are aiming for exclusivity. You have to decide which ones you want and that includes ones you like but not as much as the ones you really want. But who are the types of players that seek these achievements? I’d say not the average player and likely not the type that even care for each individual skins. You can’t wear all the skins at once so the more skins you have the less likely you’ll be to use any particular skin.

I have no idea how you arrived at that conclusion. The skins are good and people are going to spend money on chests for scraps. Plus the rest of the loot table. It’s absolutely going to incentivise people to buy more keys.
