I have been playing this game off and on since launch and it just occurred to me that i haven’t seen anything really recognizable from GW1. Like landmarks or missions etc. I know a lot of time has passed since the first game. I was comparing the maps from the two games and they are pretty similar.

Has anyone noticed anything worth checking out? There has to be some unchanged landmark or something.

Tons of things. You can see old remnants of Ascalon. Temple of ages statues. all kinds of places. Do the Ascalon Catacombs Story mission. swim in the waters in LA
as for unchanged? not sure

Sunken Droknah in Mount Maelstrom is Droknar’s Forge, just underwater and tropical thanks to rising sea levels.
Yak’s Bend is there and recognisable in Frostgorge Sound. There it’s called “Yakkington’s Toil”.
And the run from Darkwound Defile down to Wizard’s Fief in Kessex Hills should be very recognisable to GW1 players.

Temple of Grenth in Lornar’s pass still exists, although it is almost unrecognizable. One can even /kneel there for a buff.

The big crystal in ascalon, the temple of ages, underwater LA, the great wall of ascalon

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.
