Are we a PVP game or a PVE game really?
In a way we are in a PvE game. Meaning, the strong point of GW2 is its PvE envirnoment. In PvP a lot of people search is what I call power political pvp where guilds struggle to own everything on the server and where guilds fight until guild death and only 1 big guild remains. This kind of PvP will never really be in GW2 I believe, it never was there on GW1 as far as I know and it is the reason why lots of people choose this game.
“pic monsters and gear skins, that are only unlocked through control in WvWvW …”
This is exactly power political pvp. I am completely against this elitism. This will mean only specific people can do all content while we paid the same price.
If you tell me, give them a PvE fort that gives you buffs and can be contested 1 time a week, that would be more reasonable.
It’s your choice, either, or, both. Thats the beauty of it.
This is a PvE game because the WvWvW is pointeless at end of week (WvWvW reset). It’s not a sandbox like EVE where players make a permanent difference in the game world. So because of Ascension gear, GW2 is officially this is just another Theme Park MMO like hundred out there.
Take the focus off PVE and put it into FUN pvp plz, heck maybe try to involve pve dungeons through pvp, so the server can actually unite together. If you want new dungeons, make it like a daoc darkness falls for epic monsters and gear skins, that are only unlocked through control in WvWvW …
They originally had this in GW1 with TotPK (later HA) victory allowing access to UW/FoW/DoA. They eventually removed it, and it was much better with it gone.

In LoL it took a year. And the map was unbalanced.
