A little bit yes, and a little bit no.
Some things look fun.
But 48 new back items and losing m favorite way to pass the time, not really. :/

I play Fort Aspenwood, I lead the 8 member guild, Sacred Storm [Strm] I am Jason Goes Mental.
I don’t raid, I barely fractal, and I suck beyond words at PvP and WvW.
But I try, and that’s what counts.

As a dungeon/fractal/WWW player
This feature pack will just kill my www dps build.

And remove 1 skill from skillbar i will use in the next 6 months before they notuice they forgot to add a viable elite for elementalists out of pvp.

Also they will severely nerf key farming making many skins out of reach for most players.
I m not a key farmer myself, but i really liked to have the chance to get some at a reasonable cost on the TP.

Nothing else added to what i usually play (except the mini… only change that i like).

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

Im excited about feature packs that bring QoL changes.
In my opinion, this feature pack doesn’t bring QoL changes, it brings features that should have been in the game from the beginning.
After 2 years you can finally filter out light, medium and heavy armor. lol.
Some changes are good by the way and really are good QoL changes, it’s not that I think everything is bad or negative, some thing are really good I think.

But to answer your question: No, not excited.

No. Removed keyfarming. More expensive wvw traps. Worse UI (personally for me) for TP, mini market upset, pay to win achievements (collections of black lion skins), etc. There is some good stuff, but overall at most it will be a ‘status quo’ because the good and bad equal each other out. Nothing to be excited about.

Legendary weapons can be hidden now!
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

this can be, I’m just starting to lose slowly my rational thinking, because of becoming more angrier and angrier, how Anet ruins more and more the game economy lately, first minipets, now with those craptastic BLT achievements also those items.

Seriously, can it get any worser ?? Oh, why do I even ask, sure it can and if Anet keeps on following this route, I’m dead sure it will become soon even alot worser under the next living story patch, that gets praised as the next most awesome thing to happen to this game and in real it just ruins even more somewhere passively the game economy by letting things become somehow alot rarer/worthful than before, so that prices will skyrocket into the universe like crazy even more for countless of things, which were even before the changes not really easy to get already and become after the changes for nearly 99% of all players just forever impossible to get at all >.<

YAY

supposedly there are performance improvements in this patch
aside from that i am in agreement with those who see most of the changes as things you’d get on a regular basis from other games.. at no point would anyone consider it a serious overhaul and i hope arena net doesn’t either, otherwise they are simply not playing with a full deck of cards.. i do however feel the things that have been delivered this year show vastly better decision making than previous installments..

i could care less about adventure box, but seriously.. you don’t have anyone over there who could have put some extra time in to throw a handful of dragon piñatas, burnable effigies, or sweep out the dead lion statue? {sorry, this has little to do with the feature patch, but it’s things like this and the patch itself that makes me question arena net’s allocation of resources     scarlet briar – ‘hooray, for progress’

Please explain to me how adding those achievements will cause more inflation? Are the rewards for those achievements gold or something?

No, look:

After this path, all those black lion ticket weapons will significantly rise in their prices.
What will people naturally do to get the stuff they want?
Or better that what is ANet hoping what players will do? Correctly, they hope that players will buy alot more gems, so that they can trade them of for alot of gold so that a player can buy those item skins from the tp, because buying gems just to waste them with RNG crap from the gemstory is just not a wise decision, unless you just want to throw your hard earned real money out of the window by these antisocial moneygrabber mechanisms that should belong internationally worldwide forbidden in my hunle opinion, because we play here a game – Guild Wars 2 and not Las Vegas 2…

A for example zodiac weapon, that costed before the patch like 250 gold, will cost after the patch significantly more, because the supply will significantly shrink down due to achievement hunters and ultra rich players buying off all the supply for their achievements. Mostly the ultra rich peopole will do the biggest harm, because they have it the easiest to profitate the most from this crap to become even richer, than they already are by byung stuff in as lon its still cheaper and selling this stuff later for like double to triple as much as like normal…

So more people buy gems to turn in quickly tons of gold, so more will the value of gold inflate, because the game isn’t able to remove as quickly permanently gold from the game, as fast as new gold finds into the game daily either through bought gems turned into gold or due to tons of active gold farmers in dungeons ect.

Just look on how incredible the Gold to Gem exchange ration has increased over the last 2 years and it will continously increase, until Anet does finally something agaisnt the money inflation, so that the value of gold becomes again stronger, which is the olny way to stop the inflation and to let the gold to gem exchange ratio decrease or at least become stabilized enough, that it doesnt make anymore significant changes permanently going up and down.

the achievements self alone won’t cause inflation, its the behavior of people in reaction to these new achievements, that will cause the inflation, as long Anet does absolutely nothing against this changing player behavior by increasing the supply of those black lion weapons giving us somehow easier access to those items, because increasign the supply is the only effective way that Anet can do to prevent this bad player behavior reaction to cause more inflation for GW2.

Sure, the market will normalize a bit again after a few weeks for sure, but not so much, that you will be able to say – oh its all back, as if just nothing has happened …

I’m always excited on patch day. It’s more / new things for me to poke at when I get home and can log on! Even if it’s not necessarily something I may personally chase,it’s always at least fun to poke at it when it first comes out.

Like Vayne, I watched WP’s youtube previews yesterday and some of it looks rather nifty. The collections have me both fired up, and bummed out at the same time. I can’t wait to play with the crafting interface… and I’m going to make my husband a couple of combat log tabs in his chat so he can track dmg he’s doing vs damage hes taking so he can fine tune.

Yes, I’m a little giddy.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

So ultimately, no, I’m not excited for the patch.

If, as you say, loads and loads of people buy Gems to exchange to Gold, the Gold to Gems rate will plummet, which is something many, many players want. Sounds like a great thing to me! Can’t wait!
