Are you ready for the Megaserver?
I’ve been wondering… I play TESO now to check it out, and noticed they have 1 server for all European players + there are no instances separated by logging screens like in GW2, e.g. Queensdale/Kessex etc. etc.
Would it be possible to do the same for GW2? It’s so nice and smooth to see you don’t need to cross some funny portal/logging screens and simply walk around a huge unlimited space with millions of people.
Do you guys think it would be possible for GW2?
Maps are still going to be separated by portals. That has nothing to do with the megaserver.

That’s called a seamless world.
Don’t hold your breath for it happening any time soon.
I don’t know what you’re talking about. There are loading screen transitions between zones in TESO.

I am surprised you haven’t figured out the names of the people posting about TESO in the forums. There is like 10 accs who have been opening threads and posting comments since 2 months.

Well, they’re introducing a ‘megaserver’ thing like in ESO already, so maybe it’ll happen someday!^^
I know this is stupid sounding, but there are times I want to be on a deserted server. I am jumping challenged and feel awful when I see people bounding past me when I try to ascend to a vista…I am positive they are jeering at me and my ineptitude.
I will also miss seeing the two Marketeers I always come across in Rata Sum on Kaineng…I will really miss them…
Other than that…I am ready for the Mega Server
Bring it on
I am talking about what will happen with the Patch. Don’t play ESO.

Only that the megaserver system was functioning in Guild Wars cities, 8 years ago.
Yep, want more players in the maps I’m leveling in. I sometimes get help when I need it, and sometimes don’t. With Megaserver, I hope I’ll always be able to get help when I need it.

It’s true. The megaserver is how cities in Guild Wars 1 ran. I remember logging into Shing Jea Monastery during the Canthan New Year with more than 100 active districts.
The only difference seems to be they won’t be numbering the districts and to get to one you’d have to be in a party with someone on that server.
But other than that, the mega server idea has been used already, long before ESO used it.
I don’t know. I’ve come to like empty zones. Some of the bosses can be tough when you’re fighting them with only a few people, which can add a little excitement. However, there are a couple of events that I’ve never done because people don’t show up for them, so that might be nice if the mega server puts enough people together to do them.
I think the only people that will have a hard time are the big guilds who might get split up when a particular zone fills up. In general its surprising how unfriendly this game is designed for large guilds. There’s little content you need a guild for, and basically no rewards you can’t get without a big guild. Now with mega servers, large guilds might even get split when they try to gather together.
Suits me just fine I guess. The flip side of the coin is that its the most solo-friendly MMO ever created, which is pretty awesome… assuming you’re not the leader of a massive guild!
