Some areas in the game like Dry Top, Silverwaters or Southsun Cove they dont have the map completition thing on the right side but they do have points of interest and waypoints and stuff i know these areas dont count in World Completition but still people are doing them when they are finished with the other, the only way right now is to walk in all of their maps and click M to see if there is any waypoint or point of interest there , in the future they should really have a completition tracker like the rest of the areas for the new players too.

I guess because its not part of the Map completion achievement and its just added exp/points for completing.

I think it would be nice if we got a ‘Heart of Thorns’ completion and have these maps added to that. Perhaps if they give the progress bar different art it would prevent confusion for new players when it comes to the old map completion. It would be nice to at least have some progress tracking on these maps (even if it doesn’t count) when you mouse over the map name.

That’s the simple reason right there, no need for the information when it’s not part of Map Completion. There’s absolutely no reason to completely get all of the areas in the new zones unless you’re a little OCD or just have to uncover everything out there.

But there are many of us who are a little OCD when it comes to exploration. For example, I had been mapping WvW with all of my characters even though I knew the requirement was going to be removed. I was disappointed to find that the map completion tracker there stopped working on the day they all magically got their stars, making it a little more difficult to finish up. I had expected the removal of the reward chests for completing each WvW map, but see no reason for removal of the existing tracker.

Actually I am surprised thoe areas don’t count to map completion. For me all those additional maps are totally redundant and I usually don’t walk there (unless I’m redoing living story).
