I’m always glad to see that a dev is communicating. I’m definitely not saying, “stop using Reddit or other websites to communicate”.

But today, I find another example of ArenaNet addressing one of my concerns on Reddit, and not on guildwars2.com.

I wouldn’t have known about it if another person hadn’t told me about it.

What I am saying is that I think whenever you DO communicate, you need to post it here, too. This is the official GW2 site, and it makes sense that this is where I go when I want to find information.

I don’t want to have to go through lots of 3rd party sites like Reddit and GW2guru and whatever else. Some people like that, but I don’t. It’s very frustrating to find that you don’t communicate on your own website, yet you do elsewhere.

TL:DR Please, ArenaNet, if you have something to say elsewhere, say it here, too. Or create a subforum and post links to sites you’ve posted on.

It is a little funny. Why have official forum in the first place then if you don’t bother to read it and go for 3rd parties instead?

Yeah this has been a huge issue for me as well. I can’t stand that they keep using 3rd party sites to post all kinds of information, yet don’t post that same information here.

By the way, remember this little gem?

For the past few years, the ArenaNet Blog has been your hub for Guild Wars 2 news, articles, and cool stuff. Now that we have a shiny new website for Guild Wars 2, you’ll be heading over there for all your GW2 information needs from now on. The ArenaNet Blog will still exist, but we’ll be focusing more on studio news and the original Guild Wars, which is still going strong.

We’ll see you in-game and on Guild Wars 2.com!

So much for “all our Guild Wars 2 information needs” eh? I don’t use Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, etc or any of those other social sites. Yet there is so much stuff I would never know about unless someone mentions it here. You know…. on the actual Guild Wars 2 website where we are supposed to come for “all our Guild Wars 2 information needs”…..

I don’t have a problem with them using 3rd party sites.

The problem I have at the moment is announcements/comments/clarifications etc. can appear here, on Facebook, on Twitter, on Reddit, on the official site and probably in a couple of other places and there doesn’t seem to be any consistency to it. So if you want to keep on top of things you either have to rely on other players re-positing it or keep checking 4 or 5 different websites on the off-chance they’ve said something relevant.

IMO they can post things wherever they want but they should either have a consistent system or 1 place where absolutely all the posts get copied so we can find them easily.

Yea that’s exactly what I’m saying. No issue if they use 3rd party sites, but everything posted on such sites should be also posted on guildwars2.com
