So, I’m running around this game trying to get items now that have been moved to a vendor. Which is fine, I realize that for XP and gold creation, this had to be done.
However, when you look at things like, getting upgrades through the mystic forge. Is there are rule something along the lines of:
“If a player uses Karma Purchased Greens/Blues in the mystic forge to try and create upgraded items for themselves, then they will be put under scrutiny, potentially 72h’d and in extreme cases perma-banned.”
There are things like Aquatic Helms which there are no Exotic items. However, if the items are “able to be made” through adding say, 4 rare helms in the mystic forge, and it will just take a long long time to do it by collecting them… then would you get in trouble with GM’s if you did it with say, many sets of greens, till you get 4 rare helms and tried?
Even things like upgrades of items you just can’t afford at the moment because you have no money, but you have lots of karma because you have been running WvWvW for a week or more to get karma.
As long as you don’t sell it on the TP, would you still get into the dog house with A-Net because you are buying Karma gear.
The last ban wave for the Karma gear, basically was people buying these cheap Karma items. Well, if the prices are fixed, and you are buying legit items at the appropriate 45k karma cost, and flat out trying to forge them into something useful for your class, is that a problem.
I only ask because I would rather know and not do it, than not know and get 72h’d or even gasp perma-banned.
In the end, if the answer is “yes you will.” then, if it is possible to do it, then make it not possible to do it so there’s no chance. For example; all items bought from karma vendors cannot be put into the mystic forge. That would stop it.
