PvE main idea is to become immersed in the world. If grind is what concerns you then there are better games that cater to that kind of gameplay.
PvP and WvWvW are for pure fun, again, you’re looking for grinding in both game features, and since WvWvW doesn’t really have anything to grind for (aside badges), you ask yourself “what is there left to do in it then?”
Your whole take on the game is flawed, and I doubt you ever touched GW1 before you got into its sequel.

For me there was nothing immersive about GW2.
A few areas have some nice scenery and thats about it. The combat is different. Not better, not worse, different.
Server pride doesn’t interest me, neither does getting achievements for the sake of having them and I burnt out on PvP back in September getting to r 30 for free bags and there havent been any significant changes since than.
I’m still playing because my guild is still playing.

I came to this game determined to play at a measured pace, and have successfully done so.
With the exception of HORRENDOUS management of the player economy so far, the game has fit the bill.
There are always ways to make it better, but so far it’s been excellent.

How many hours did you get while you did all you did in this game? 100? 200? Compare that to the literal hundreds of other 60$ titles out there. The dozens that can barely give you 4 hours of game play. You are playing a game that offered you several dozen times that enjoyment for the same cost. Not even a monthly fee! Anet is free to update the game as often as they like. Maybe they don’t intend people to spend every waking hour of their lives in this one game? Take some time off if you are bored, but please.. do NOT call GW2 bad just because you burnt yourself out faster then a crack head at a dope convention. Normal people are still playing the game just fine and with plenty left to do.

I don’t understand. I thought we all knew what we were getting into with this game. They advertised sPVP and WvW and they were exactly as advertised. PvE has so many little dark corners that have interesting content to find, I’m not sure I’ll ever find them all. Like that pirate ghost cave, that took me totally unaware!
My questions are, what exactly were you expecting, and how can they improve the game so you would stay?
…I was waiting for Guild Wars 2.
Now I am Level 80 and Rank 40 in sPvP. World completion is mine and I’ve done everything you have to offer. It’s not enough to keep me happy and still playing your game. It feels like a waste of time to be honest. I expected so much more from you and you can still save this game before some newbie company steals your ideas and features of this game and polish it for themselves – adapting their game to what people in Guild Wars 2 wants. I’ll take a break soon from Guild Wars 2 and come back in a year or two. I hope you’ll fix everything people want to see in Guild Wars 2 within that time frame so I can come back and enjoy your game again. I have been with you guys for 3 years before launch, posting suggestions and personal ideas for this game on your wikipedia site to make sure the outcome of this game was perfect which in my opinion it wasn’t. I will make sure to include what made me leave Guild Wars 2 so I can leave with a decent conscience.

Not this crap again. These threads have no use except for people filling their ego meter. 1000 hours into a game and you are kitten off there is nothing to do? 41 DAYS of content isn’t good enough for you? That is an absurd amount of time to put into a game that only came out a few months ago. Perhaps if you paced yourself a bit you might not bore yourself so fast.

I agree with you. I am taking a break too, not sure if I will come back. If someone does steal arenanet’s idea and polish it, i will give them a try. And if arenanet relaunch a polished GW2 or publish a new title with the same idea, I don’t mind start over again.
You don’t need to start over, nor do you need to wait for someone to try the concept again. They have said time and time again they WILL release content updates. FREE content updates. You can always come back for those. There will be plenty of times where an update will come by and you can add a few more hours of enjoyment for the game. The point is that you have the freedom to leave for days, weeks, months at a time without feeling obligated to play every waking hour of your life to get your moneys worth.
