Arenanet: Do you sell ANY Upgrade Extractors?
Upgrade Extractors are priced wrongly. I politely suggest that someone at the company should pay some attention to this.
You really think that they would leave them up if no one was buying them? You really think no one on the gem shop team has ever seen any of the 1348 posts on the topic and not given it a moment’s consideration?
I won’t, purchase because they are too expensive for all but the most unusual of situations; that doesn’t mean that no one does.

I think they’d sell a LOT more if they were a reasonable price. I would be amazed if they sell any at the current price.
I mean, if you’re replacing a sigil worth more than 54 gold, sure, the gem cost could stand to come down. But, it’s simply more efficient to buy a new sigil. Otherwise, I’m pretty sure ANet doesn’t want players making profit off of it.

That sounds a lot like you do think that they’ve never considered this question, but that they suddenly will see the light now, as a result of a new thread on an old topic.
In other words, you might want to reconsider your choice of rhetoric. What price would you like to see for what functionality? What impact to the economy do you think it would have if people could more easily/cheaply recover sigils and runes from ascended gear and sigils from legendaries? Would the overall result be better for everyone? Or just for some of us?

I think we’d all use up a lot more bank slots storing expensive sigils and runes and thus have to spend even more gems buying expanders for those, too!
If the Devs found that there would be economic disturbances from being able to swap Runes and Sigils, perhaps they feel the same way about inexpensive access to an item that functions much the same. /shrug

Only case I can think of is Superior Sigil of Concentration, which costs about 60 gold on the trading post. You are better off trading 38 gold for 125 gems and buy the extractor. I guess there are few of those exceptions. And maybe if you put time and effort into getting Runes, like with Superior Runes of Leadership. I think I would rather grind Dragon’s Stand to get another set. Also, it’s likely people don’t put those on anything other than ascended/legendary stuff. If you upgrade from an ascended weapon to a legendary, the extractor might be useful for Sigils that are more expensive than 38 gold.
On the other hand, keeping the item in the store does no harm as far as I can tell. People who get it without realizing that getting a new Sigil/Rune would have been cheaper don’t know their mistake.
