Hai now that wintersday is approching i am super hyped, but then i looked back at last year/this year haloween i suddenly got panic and saw that i needed to make this post IJMMITEDLY. As wintersday last year is the best patch ive ever experinced any game. competly perfect enviroment, great characters, highly motivating, and very entertaining, especially all the games! There was only 1 bad thing about it and that was that choir minigame if you replaced that with a pvp activity like you could pick Dwayna/Grenth then you got spesific skills for that then you had like 5v5 with these skills the winner gets 1 point, the one that get most point in the whole patch affects future living story.
Haloween this year was none of these things it was non rewarding, unentertaining, and the story was meh, half of the content from last year was removed and only thing they added was 2 small story instances….
Summary:
Please do not screw up wintersday as you did with haloween.
Also, we had a PvP minigame where you choose weapon, and your weapons did different things, like the heavy gun made you slow, but really tanky, and the slingshot made you fast but fragile DPS, etc, etc.
Ah yes.
Saying they “screwed up” is a great way to get them to listen.
Why not be more constructive and say what you didn’t like and what they could have done better?
Personally I believe that had they just put the same Halloween as last year people would have shouted about them being lazy and not adding anything and stuff.
I disagree that they screwed up Halloween 2013. I absolutly loved it. More then that I’m really happy and greatfull they decided to not repeat the same old boring festival every year but try to make it interesting and refreshing each time it comes around.
So please Anet. Dont listen to this lonely voice. Make Wintersday awesome, but most off all refreshing and new

Halloween had far more change than any Festival we ever got in GW1. The biggest thing they ever did there was remove the gift-chasing Grenchies from LA, which had been my favorite activity for the previous 6 years. (Boooo!)
Change is GREAT. Removing beloved content is NOT. Expand, don’t remove.

I feel the OP is being rather rude in his choice of words, and is foolish enough to assume because he disliked it, that everyone else did too.
I think Anet should simply tweak his account so the RnG never gives him anything again. That way, if he wants to accuse them of screwing up, at least there will be a reason.

Let’s be honest, if the game does not introduce anything good, quality-wise, not quantity-wise ( LS updates ), the game is going to die out pretty fast. There’s nothing to argue here with – it’s pure logic. And a new fractal is nothing but a mere 1 in a 1000 things they ought to have done almost 1.5 year since the premiere.
I hope that the Wintersday update will be followed by a couple of well-thought updates that introduce some decent content.
PS In spite of my high hopes for this new content in the nearest future, I am somehow worried. In the thead dedicated to Ranger class, a dev stated that pet’s mechanics cannot and will not be fixed ( the dev, in a discussion with some guy who sits in the IT industry, admitted that the pets are indeed bugged but that they will not dedicate time to fixing the issue – a bug which, importantly, has been there since the beginning of the game, i.e. pets not reacting to F2 skills immediately/at all )

lol, you do know that they didn’t add anything to halloween this year except the 5 minute instance with the prince? They actually removed stuff from last year, this year had less to do..
