What do you do choose?….. Prestige, or something you like?

For the most part, prestige armor/weapons tend to look better.

However, I think there are quit a few exceptions.

For me at least, I prefere to go with what I think looks best rather than just going for a prestige look. If its a level 1 or white type item, so be it.

I have to give Arenanet a thumbs up with the transmution thing so we can decide for ourselves what looks best while still getting stats we want.

Everyone wants to be an individuale, and the transmutation thing lets that happen.

I go for what I like and I just love transmutation stones too.
I have several starter pieces on my characters that I have kept since lvl 1 because I love them, same with some low lvl personal story skins.

Same as Morrigan here, I find armor and weapon sets that I feel suit that character, and stick with ‘em. With 7 toons, I’ve burned thru more ‘mute stones than I can count, and since I’ll likely never even get to breathe on a Legendary I’ll stick with the look I enjoy regardless of how “cheap” the actual item is.

I go for what I like.

I don’t understand people who use stuff they don’t like just because it takes a while to grind it. I had a discussion with a guy who literally could not understand why I use the base greatsword skin (Also the best) on my warrior when I’ve played enough to own The Juggernaut. I just use stuff because they look cool.

stats…but other mmos taught me you can have both…when i used to get the last weapon, the most powerful, the almighty one, the unique of uniques, the one which a king of kings must have…it was so awesome.

I go for what looks good on a character. Some of the gear you have to grind for just looks plain horrible, so I get it for the stat’s and then transmute it. I wouldn’t be caught dead with some of the Legendary skins. I have never seen a female Human wearing the same thing as my Ranger and all her gear skins are Heritage and Story.

I go for a specific image for my toon.

My engineer is wearing Leather right now. It’s cheap and I like the look.
