Hi guys,

Is there a complete list somewhere of all the armor skins available and how you can get them? I don’t really want to spend real $$ on transmute stones, and my level 80 armor looks like crap. Tried googling it and had no luck! Any help would be appreciated!

Unfortunately, skins don’t really exist in game. However, you can farm gold to convert to gems to buy gem store skins, but at that point you might as well just get the transmute stones.
http://www.gw2armor.com will show you the armors available. Dungeon armor might be the best for you, but you would need to pick the dungeon with the stat and style you want. This would mean that you would not use your current armor, but a new set, that has the style you want. No stones required.

So it really really depends.

Thanks Lilith, before I took my break I had farmed almost the full set of Caudecus because it has the stats I wanted for my ranger build (healing, cond, vit) and it’s difficult to find those stats…just that set looks cheeeese. Maybe I should just go for some rabid gear, it seems to have more options and I hear it plays pretty decent for SB/GS ranger.

Don’t spend any real $$.

Spend gold on gems and get those transmute stones.

As for a list of armor skins, http://argos-soft.net/GW2/ArmorGallery/ is a great resource since you can view armors on all races/genders in a variety of colors, although you won’t find all of the newest skins there yet.

You can also check the wiki for the different armors and where to get them. Say for human female light armor you would do this:

Any of those armors can be used as skins with transmutation stones or crystals.

Grinding out gold for armor skins seems like a long endeavour… thanks for the tips tho

If your character is female, the best cheap skin for your ranger is the duelist skin (because no trench coat). Other than that, cultural armor is the way to go, visit the t1, 2 and 3 merchants to preview them on your character. Personal story armor is very nice as well.
