Why some armours have different colours if you use same dye? Like if you mix (heavy) Ascalon armour with Vigil and use same dye, you would notice that the colour on armours is not the same. Same thing i noticed is with an orrian armour with karma one. I uderstand if it is cloth/plate that the colour cant be same on both, but plate/plate should look the same. This is very anoying since you cant properly mix any armour item.

all is vain

It is a bit strange. I am in the Sylvari T2 and different pieces of it look very different even with the exact same dye on. To make the chest piece and leggings match I am using 2 different shades of purple. I’m not sure how much of that is down to the Sylvari culturals drawing from your skin colour, but again, my skin is the same colour all over.

It makes sense that gold leather would look different from gold cloth or a gold metal plate, but you’d think colours would be fairly consistent on the same materials.

As RedCobra.7693 said it is the matter of textures. With that is the matter of whether it is for the main/accent/highlight section of a armor piece.
