This is a bad article for several reasons.

It takes broad, sweeping generalisations of negative feedback about certain areas of game development, and just supplies the PR from the game company that is designed to reduce the impact of such criticism.

Every game company is different, every game suffers from it’s own issues, every development studio does things in a different way. The issues of one studio (EA: Greed, poor QA, constant DRM pushes) are not universal (ANet: Lack of decent developer/community interaction until the HoT lead up), so getting some random PR response to generalised criticism/misconceptions about game development really doesn’t do anything useful.

But then that’s why I pay no attention to anything Kotaku publishes

Resident smug Englishman on the NA servers, just because.

I thought it was good. I agree that there are some generalizations in there, but you know,. no article can really point out every single side of every story.

I’ve seen the word lazy on this forum more times then I can count and I don’t believe Anet devs are lazy at all. I think they work hard. And I’m sure most people don’t appreciate their efforts.

If people did, there’s be fewer posts that personally attack the team.

I didn’t click the link because no Gawker site deserves money. Kotaku is, at best, a tabloid publication with a terrible reputation that it’s worked hard to earn.

If the GW2 devs are going to give feedback on anything I’d rather it be on concerns the community have and additional information regarding HoT rather than a clickbait listicle written by a blogger. What I’d especially like to hear is feedback regarding prospective timeframes to the rollout of raids and balance tuning after HoT goes live.

Asking for feedback on this is like finding an article about gaming in the National Enquirer and asking for feedback on it. Your time would be better spent on just about anything at all.

yah, I’m sure they do work long hours, sometimes days in a row. And they do get called lazy. I’m not sure what you want them to come here and say.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.
