Can we change the filter, I find it offensive everyone uses my name as a curse word…
How about if the forum puts in a picture of a kitten instead of the word kitten?

lol omg perfect
Should change it from kitten to good luck or mount. Every one on forum drunk a lot then.

We could just not swear, and fix it when the world gets close to the filter.
You should have thought of this before you picked a bad word as your name.

Kittens are cute. Even the most hardened internet denizen has a soft spot for kittens. :-p
The filter words in the German, French, and Spanish official forums are different.
In German, the word is “Liebsche” (a term of endearment roughly equivalent to ‘honey’)
In French, it is “papillon” (butterfly)
In Spanish, it is “minino” (the more harmless form of the word ‘kitten’ in Spanish)
The goal for these filter words is to diffuse the abrasiveness and take the bite out of posts containing profanity.

The irony of course being that us hardened forumites now use kitten as a curse word, even in our daily lives XD
Maybe OP’s name shouldn’t be a curse word :P

I never say kitten in real life, but sometimes, someone is just so.. GRR.. that I have to type kitten because no softening of a vulgarity will do otherwise. :P
If it makes you feel any better Kitty they stole my name for Trick or Treat bags lol.

Now I want a kitten, kitten you
I just wish that the filter would be a bit better. I can’t write “assessable” without “able” or it think I am cursing, so now I am forced to “estimate” things.

this forum ruined kittens for me.

“Abasiveness”? “Bite”? Those sound like terms assigned by the reader. I find it incredibly kittened that we live in a world where the writer/speaker is responsible for the emotions felt by the reader/listener.
If the reader/listener has a problem with what they are reading/listening to, THAT IS ON THEM. I’m not a mind controller. I can’t make anyone feel any way they don’t want to feel.
It’s time to put the onus back where it belongs – on the person receiving the words. -Sid

So no one should be held responsible for saying something they know is offensive? Or for that matter, shouldn’t people be held responsible for being intentionally offensive to make a point?
Cuz cats are naughty and need spankingz. So it’s no wonder their name has become a bad word.
Beer. You should change it to beer.

The recipient has a choice. They can choose to be offended or not. There isn’t a single word in any language that can be uttered that will have any tangible effect on a person that doesn’t want that effect to be had.
If you don’t like what a person has to say, simply ignore it. Worry instead about what people DO. Actions can affect people who don’t want to be affected. Words cannot.
Here, I’ll demonstrate:
WORDS! LEAP OFF THIS SCREEN AND KILL EVERYONE WHO READS THEM!
Lemme know if anyone dies. -Sid

What the beer are you talking about? That’s the most beerish idea I’ve ever beering heard.
…Hm, dunno, but I figured I’d try it on for size. :P
