I checked wiki and other sites all seem to say it should be 175/175.
However with recent updates I believe they introduced one extra zone, like the case for one of the other regions.
So do anyone know where to look for?

I found most of the areas I was missing were jumping puzzles.

They added a couple new ones with the Lost Shores update, you might check those.

As you mentioned, the list of zones required for the achievement is listed on the wiki here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Explorer#Acquisition

According to the wiki, there are technically 178 listed in Ascalon. To complete the achievement I went through the list and made sure I had “unfogged” them all (as the link above instructs).

So if you have already completed all the maps (tasks/wps/poi/skills/vistas), I would doublecheck the “areas” listed that have nothing in them (“map completion” column = “-”).

funny enough ascalon has a few extra zones to that achievement(if you get all ascalon jump puzzles and etc.), it should somewhere around 178 or 180 total(recently completed the maps). Right now i’m missing 3 in maguuma, didn’t look too hard, but i’ll find em eventually.

No, you only need to get all the POIs, WP, SPs and Vistas for that.

gw2 anet should include map area for map completion.
for me. so freaking hard to find those spot that hasn’t been explore yet.

I have this problem with Siverpeaks and Maguma. Can’t find them, don’t know what they are. Wiki hasn’t helped me at all.
My shiverpeaks has 2 areas missing and Maguma is missing 1.
I’ve searched the maps over an over and can’t see what i’m missing.
For explorer title. I don’t think JP’s are included coz in some areas i haven’t done the JP’s at all and i got the completions, so don’t know maybe in some maps it’s different.

Note that several places can only be accessed through portals that might be far away from the zone. Metrica has one like that in the SE corner and Fireheart has one near the south border.

Doh. That would be frustrating. The achievement will probably just pop up as you’re running along a road somewhere. God luck.

Ok so I had to use the Wiki and go square by square matching up the white names with the areas. For example for Shiverpeak I was missing Lair of the Coil and Tail of the Serpent. Two areas in the bottom right of the map that have no waypoints or pois.
