I just wanted to post some praise behind the ascended amulets and the decision to name them after powerful relics and important lore characters. They really feel a lot more special to me than other objects in the game and the idea of wearing Gwen’s Necklace or a Jade Wind Orb actually carries with it a feeling of power. I don’t feel like there is anything special about any of my armour or weapons, my Endless Quiver is pretty ordinary despite being the same quality as these amulets, but an item that represents a story in Tyria, the history and legacy of GW1 (lots of Cantha and Elona references that gave me a happy feeling) as well as some of the important factions in GW2 (references to Shinies, Blood of Khan-Ur, the Pale Tree etc). To me this small detail adds so much more value to these items than if they had simply had interesting names (like most of the exotics in the game). They feel special and their power is justified by some kind of lore. I especially like that they come with little descriptions (the rings have a similair trend to these amulets but without the special descriptions). I’m also glad you stayed away from pop culture references in their naming (like the Red Ring of Death from the rings). Tyria is it’s own world with it’s own interesting lore, relics and legacy, paying tribute to that with some gear is an idea that I strongly support.

Well put! I couldn’t agree with you more….. I enjoyed scrolling through the list and ’ooh’ing and ’aah’ing over the names.

Yup.

All they need to do now is the same with the Legendary weapons, whether this batch or the next.

Life is a journey.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
