Ascended Aqua Breather
How about :
Ascended Aquabreathers that have the Bunny Ears Skin, which then could only be worn underwater.
Acquisition:
Extremely rare drop from Wintersday Gifts.
Account Bound on Acquire of course.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Since Anet has basically walk away from underwater game play I don’t see this happening.
Wouldn’t be worth the time/money to make it for a game that is 98% on land and 2% underwater.
I expect at one point they’ll really look into underwater combat revamping.
Suppose they wanted to do underwater stuff with LS3, then we’d see a feature pack before it starts that looks into underwater combat.
Can we actually just be done with aquabreathers as gear? I’d rather just keep my helmet and rune set gear. :\

it seems many like them better than the games they comment on.” -Horrorscope.7632
Underwater content is being removed, there is no way they would add more…
PvP… removed 100%
WvW… removed 90%
PvE… removed from starting areas and somewhat through LS
Weapon skins… removed from all new weapon skins
I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

Which is a shame tbh. So much lost potential, at least for exploration purposes… and largos.
Yeah, removal would be simplest. As it is now, if you hide your helm, you hide the breather. Quite often I don’t even have a breather on while underwater.
I WvW and main a ranger so I will sometimes prefer to fight in the water.
While we’re getting rid of underwater combat, let’s convert all trident skins to staff skins, please.

In an interview once when ask about underwater gameplay this is what Anet said:
GuildMag: “Will we be seeing underwater combat making a comeback to PvP, or in general to World versus World and PvE?”
Devon Carver: “Not really. The biggest issue is that underwater combat is something that requires a lot of skill, and the system… our system just requires a lot… you need to be very, very cognizant(?) of everything that’s going on with underwater combat. We felt like for PvP it just wasn’t…, for the majority of players it was just too confusing so that’s the reason that we pulled it out of PvP. For World v. World, it’s a little bit of a different story; that’s more of a question of, you know, if we were to say do additional maps or make any other changes to the maps that we have in place, I wouldn’t say that we would categorically say “no there won’t be underwater”, there’d be very much a case of “is this a map that it feels like underwater makes sense, is it a place where there’s a good reason to have water there?” So it’s definitely not, you know, completely off the table for World versus World, but we don’t right now have plans to say like “add a giant lake back”, or “turn everything into an ocean” or anything crazy like that.”
GuildMag: “And are we going to see more underwater combat come to PvE?”
Devon Carver: “It’s kind of the same answer. I mean honestly, it’s very much a map-by-map basis, so you know you look at Dry Top; not particularly well-suited to underwater combat, but that being said, you know, if future Living World updates took us into more of… like the asura territory, or even, you know, areas like Bloodtide Coast or some of that, then it’s absolutely possible that we would do more underwater combat. So it’s not a system that we’re saying like “no, no more underwater ever”, but you know, it’s very much what makes sense with the content that we’re building.”
Underwater combat may come back if we ever get around to the Deep Sea Dragon, if Anet doesn’t make it into a on-land battle or find some way to write that dragon off completely.

I loved underwater combat. There is still LOTS of water in Tyria. Even in WvW you will be getting wet. So yes, there’s a place for an Ascended Aqua Breather. For heck’s sake how hard is it to re-purpose a skin, change it’s stats and binding, and add it in somewhere? Make it plentiful and easy to get even.
This is the kind of request that should take one person and hour or so to actually do.

- Is there monetary benefit to finishing these equipment sets? If not, Arenanet’s not going to do it.

Statements like this contribute nothing and can be ignored. Personally, I don’t see ascended aqua breathers being on their radar until under-water combat comes into the picture more. Most likely when the deep sea dragon comes into the picture as previously mentioned.
