So i was doing some temple runs today, and was amazed to find an ascended armor chest in one of the champ lootboxes, is this new or a bug?

It’s neither, it’s as new as Ascended Armor is itself. It’s just extremely rare and incredibly unlikely.

Chances are you got junk stats you will never want, so unlucky that it’s not a precursor I guess.

Ha i was playing with my girlfriend and told her the same thing, i should’ve used that luck for a 700 gold precursor, as i dont even do fractals.
