Ascended back items are even more expensive than a ascended armor piece or weapon

A few of them can be stat changed when you infuse them

Actually there are quite a few back items that are relatively cheap to make. That being said, legendary back items are coming, and you can change stats on them to your hearts content.

Mawdrey costs roughly 84G to make.
Tempered Spinal Blades costs roughly 54G if you have the blade shards already.

I’d make another one if I had a character that absolutely needed one and I didn’t want to swap equipment. I personally am not against Anet creating a way to change stats on ascended pack items like they did for weapons and armor.
