A guild mate of mine just got an ascended chest (boots) from Fractal Level 5.

He can’t remember how it got in his inventory.

Could someone explain to me how it’s possible?

He said it might have been the “Daily” chest. But nowhere in its description does it allude to the possibility of ascended gear.

I am only Level 1 for Fractals.

I received an Ascended ring after completing the Underwater Fractal solo. I am not sure if it came from the Jelly Fish Boss or as part of the Daily Fractal reward but when I started the run I did not have an Ascended ring in my inventory and after I was done, I did.

It was not one I would normally use but at least they are salvageable now.

Details: "The old daily reward chests for fractals no longer exist in Heart of Thorns. There are daily achievements for fractals which give rewards, but the in game description for those rewards does not indicate whether or not they drop ascended armor. Completed masteries may be required first, or Armor chests may no longer drop at all. This is not yet known. "

Confusing. As. Heck.

Lucky guy then. DRop rate should be 0,4%. I’ve done every quoti since HoT and got nothing than just infused/non-infused rings, even with the 51-100 chest.

This need a fix asap.

50+ fract should be the only way to get ascended with higher rate but it’s not even the case.

There is a chance the chests from the fractal mastery dailies can drop ascended armor chests. I got one too awhile ago

The daily achievement rewards for individual fractals (the ones that drop research pages) can include weapons and armour very rarely. Since one of the daily achievements is for a 1-20 fractal, that means that even at the lowest levels it’s possible to get ascended weapons and armour. There is no difference between the daily achievement chest for a 1-20 fractal and the one for a 21-50 fractal, the two chests stack.

There is a difference between the “complete three fractals within the difficulty range” chests, of course. Those ones don’t stack.

So the “exotic” fractal reward chests don’t include weapons/armor? That seems a little backwards

He might’ve gotten it from one of the daily chests, I’ve gotten one for the Fractal Adept Daily. (Apparently super luck there, since I haven’t gotten another from em lol)
My guess is the Recommended Daily chest also has a chance (best I’ve gotten are rings).

The “exotic” Fractal reward chests can. Veteran and Champion, at least. The ones earned from three fractals scale 1-20 can’t.

It’s just that the individual daily Fractal chests don’t differentiate between the 1-20 daily and the 21-50 daily.
