just trying to figure out but after reading this News Post from November, https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/linsey-murdock-unveils-new-high-end-ascended-gear/

Are legendary weapons considered ascended yet, with the same level of stats ascended items give? I checked the GW2 wiki but it only shows regular stats.

There are no ascended weapons and armors

Ascended weapons don’t yet exist, so legendaries remain on par with exotics.

How legendary weaps will scale to ascended stats post transmutate, no one knows. I suspect the devs will work that out when it comes to releasing ascended weapons. But, we don’t know when that will be.

I guess the guarantee would be make your legendary, transmutate now if u want to and if for some bizarre reason it doesn’t scale up when the ascended weaps are released, just transmutate it onto an ascended weapon

The devs have said that legendary weapons will scale up to ascended once they release ascended weapons. How they will achieve this is up to them to figure out.

Legendary weapons will automatically scale in strength once Ascended weapons are released. We saw a preview when Ascended gear first came. A bug caused all Legendary weapons to have ~1% stronger stats. It was rolled back to the correct amounts with an update.
