Ascended Salvaging
Not sure. Maybe they never figured people would want to salvage them. I’ve got a few ascended drops but they were both rings. If they made the rings salvagable what would they drop?
Maybe once all the crafting professions get a 500 option they’ll make ascended salvagable.
It is a good question. Maybe there’s some exploitative thing people could do with the salvaging somehow. Or maybe they figured too many people would rage from not getting what they wanted when they salvaged.
It could be because of infusions. Maybe they don’t want people using infusions and then passing them around or reselling them. The whole earn your own infusions or pay tons o money for them might be one of the ways they keep the system balanced and have some hardset gold sinks.
Just guessing but who knows.
Yeah, the rings im not too sure.
for example though, from the start, i went and crafted ascended zojjas armor for my mesmer.
Now that I have it, sometimes I will get a box of ascended armor, one piece here, just odd pieces, some stats that I don’t even have the desire to use. Those pieces should be able to be salvaged and return damask and used in something more favorable.
Jewelery is pretty simple to get so that I do not mind too much, maybe just some infusions or relics whatnot, either way, armor boxes and unwanted stat combinations on them should be able to salvage.
They wouldn’t allow that. It would lower the cost and time gating of ascended.
Why not ascended mystic forging
so we use 4 ascended and get one at random
They wouldn’t allow that. It would lower the cost and time gating of ascended.
which is ridiculous. Its an armor tier just like anything else, with a horrible percentage of stat increase as well.
It’s hard enough to get ascended armor pieces to drop in the form of chests anyways, its not like it’s something bountiful.
They require you to time gate the pieces you want, but they will throw random stat pieces with low drop rate that you most likely wont ever use, cant salvage etc.

I wondered the same thing. Even ectos and dark matter would be something, but there should be the chance to get worthwhile returns when you get a drop that’s utterly useless to any character or build that you run.
