Ascended Weapons and Armor
This is all speculation but, given the trend, they will most definitely not be tradable or sellable (account bound by default, soulbound on use), they might be available for laurels, but at obscene prices compared to the “main” forms of acquiring them (such as crafting for weapons, it would seem).
If it is account bound, I call kittens. You can sell Legendaries; if you cannot sell Ascended gear it is literally just to punish those that haven’t leveled the necessary crafting skills… It would be contrived and asinine to do that.

I do agree with you on that one, thats why I leveled every crafting profession when all this farming started taking place and the prices of materials fell.
However not everyone can do this, or wants/enjoys crafting at all. I feel like forcing them to craft their way up to ascended gear would be pretty much going against everything GW2 was supposed to be.
At 500, crafters will be able to craft ascended weapons and armor. Once you reach 500, a new tier of crafting materials will be available to you; this new tier of materials will be made by combining lower tier materials. This tier is time-constrained, so each item can only be made once per day in order to help give high-level crafters their own economy of items to build and sell that retain their value and rarity.
These weapons and armor will also be able to be found as rare drops from locations in the world. Ascended weapons and armor will remain account-bound like other ascended gear.

Sounds like:
Crafted ascended weapons are tradeable.
Dropped ascended weapons are not.

This is such a bullkitten argument… A lot prettier than saying “virtually inflating content duration” though.

That was exactly what I was trying to say. Forcing people who just kitten around on WvW or sPvP into leveling their crafting just to get the best gear would be the antithesis of the ‘Play how you want’ model. While I am not in either of those groups and am looking forward to crafting further up the chain… you don’t force Alliance Marauders to Carebear, you just don’t…

that’s what i’ve been saying for almost a year… their kitten makes no sense
I really wish that we can use our exotic armor in some way when crafting ascended gear, maybe making it cheaper material wise. That way we dont have to use this hard earned gear as salvage or have it taking up space in the bank.
