Very,very slowly.

Ascended crafting mats can be acquired through normal WvW play.

The only portion you might expect a badge based discount for would be the recipes themselves which set you back 5 laurels and 3 gold.

EDIT: There will also be a minuscule chance of receiving a chest that let’s you select a weapon type for a given stat combo.

I’ve only gotten 2 exotic drops the entire time I’ve played this game lol, I’ll never get that chest :P

If the dulfy page was a faithful representation of the livestream, there will be a rare chance of getting these chests from any lord/claimer as well as from rank chests. I hear you though, getting even a rare in WvW is something to write home about.

I think we’ll have to get our mf to 300% through the new system to have a “decent” chance at these kind of drops.

I have gotten an ascended ring from wvw. Not sure if that counts though.

Better forget whole thing. Even getting ascended ring from www is like winning in lottery. Wonder if fotm drop rates are any better.

That’s what they’re doing, they specifically placed the items needed to make t7 mats in chest of activities people were already doing throughout the game so they wouldn’t have to go out of their way to get them.

Let’s put it this way you are pretty naiive.

You are able to hit a lot more of those types of chests and creatures by doing the various champ runs and hit them over and over much faster.

I think if you tried to get an ascended weapon from WvW only it would take you at least a year (if even possible). I know people who have ground a legendary from the champ runs in a week.

The problem is its not balanced and its not rewarding you evenly for WvW and Pve. Unless you can purchase one with WvW currency like Laurels then its not acceptable.

Let’s be realistic:

Considering how often towers/keeps get taken in WvW, unless the drop rate of T7 mats in WvW are much higher than in PvE (zero chance of this being the case), you will never get your ascended weapons from playing WvW exclusively.
